Steve Jackson Games appoints Surge Licensing to represent its Munchkin® series for Merchandising and Entertainment projects

MunchkinSteve Jackson Games, the legendary hobby game developer and publisher, has engaged Surge Licensing, Inc. of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle and Axe Cop infamy to develop the Munchkin® series of games in both merchandising and entertainment, as their exclusive global licensing agent.

"Munchkin is a juggernaut, rolling over everything in its path and growing larger and larger each year as it collects ravenous fans. Keeping the constantly-expanding Munchkin series in print is a full-time challenge; the game keeps flying off store shelves," said Steve Jackson Games' COO, Philip Reed.

Written by Steve Jackson and illustrated by John Kovalic, Munchkin® "captures the game play of a total dungeon adventure without all the stupid role-playing stuff." Steve Jackson Games, along with its partners in over a dozen countries, has sold almost five million Munchkin® games and accessories globally, making the game a growing presence in pop culture.

"Watching the Munchkin® brand grow over the years and continue to be the essential humor-based card game, we at Surge can't wait to offer their fandom everything from action figures to 'Munchkin Babe' Halloween costumes," exclaims Surge's President, Mark Freedman.

Surge initially plans to expand the game and fan experience through key licensed partnerships, certainly to include toys, collectibles, apparel, accessories, and Halloween costumes.
