Conversions:

Fantasy

Erishen is probably human mercenary/scout specializing in traps to harass the enemy. Strongly consider adding Combat Reflexes. Alter skills to fit. He's probably Illiterate.

Modern

Erishen is a former gurrilla from some nasty little war - he's managed, somehow, to get himself to a civilized country and is serving as a bodyguard/security specialist to his benefactor. Alter skills to fit, and consider adding Combat Reflexes.

Near Future

Same changes as Modern, but also consider adding cybernetic enhancements of various kinds (usually combat-oriented). He's surprisingly nice for a "street samauri" type, though. (competent, but not bloodthirsty.) He may be a gengineered creation, as well.

Erishen is a Parvan - the lost Thral colony I cooked up because the stereotype of "Thrals as Thugs" annoyed me somewhat. The Parvans aren't all sweetness and light, however . . . Their colony, when discovered, bore a not-terribly-coincidental resemblance to the GURPS worldbook, GURPS Reign of Steel (which was once going to be in GURPS Robots). For those of you who don't know RoS, think the Terminator times 17 at TL9ish. Bickering biocidal AIs who can hardly agree on anything except that the biologicals who created them were too dangerous to be allowed to remain in charge of the world.

On the scene came a selection of PCs (Aw, c'mon, you can guess!), who, with TL11 resources, managed to threaten, bribe, cajole and bully the majority of the AIs into modifying their programming to be less hostile, and then moving them to the Belt and explaining to the suddenly-freed planet that it'd better get itself a world-government and fast, lest the Thral homeworld take over. (Parva is the scene of lots of fun politicking, these days.)

Erishen was a member of the resistance in Zone Carval, and got rescued along with the Kintaran castaways, Wahn Shadowflash and Detchal. Erishen decided that he liked tech (a lot better than being chased through the woods by 'bots and gengineered lizard-Thrals!), he liked space, and he was going to do his best to stay on the ship. The owner of the ship in question being a secretly soft touch for technophiles (guessed yet?), Erishen never did get kicked off, and in fact got adopted as a sort of mascot (and PC).

He's very picky about being called a Parvan - the Parvans left Thral in a snit several hundred years ago, for political reasons (& some religious ones), and now both sides aren't too fond of each other.

Typical Quotes:

"I'm not a Thral - I'm a Parvan!"

"Wow."
