Fantasy:

It's unlikely that Sandra will have something much like her current job. Perhaps she repairs/maintains watch-towers and signal mirror-towers. Other possibilities include keeping message-birds (or other appropriate animals), or having a magical Knack that allows her to send messages personally. Her delusion becomes that she's more important (and protected) than she really is in her position as [whatever]. Scrap her entire skill-set, probably. Maintaining signal-towers will take Archetecture, Mechanic, and likely Engineering skills. Caring for message-animals will give her things like Vet and Animal Handling.

Modern:

Sandra works for the local Phone Company. Fear her.

Near Future:

Sandra works for a telecommunications corporation, servicing the products the corp. sells.

Ms. Houston's job is to provide maintance to communications gear owned by InStelComm (Inter-Stellar Communications). This generally takes her to some of the far-flung stations, as well as home-planet businesses and the relay stations that float in space and keep everyone in comm range. [Range is 2 parsecs, in our universe; Instant-to-Fast FTL Comm is the norm.]

Though usually a pleasant enough person, Sandra is one of those who shows the truth of "Power Corrupts. Absolute Power Corrupts Absolutely. Petty Power Corrupts All Out Of Proportion" . . . When she's on a station or at a company, nothing is more important than her job, and anybody who argues with her will Get It, because Messing With The Phone Company is a Bad Idea. (The GM can decide if these are empty threats, or if Sandra will do her best to make someone's life a living telecommunications hell . . . ) Even hard vacuum might be intimidated by the force of her belief, when she's working on a relay-unit in free-fall!

Typical Quotes:

"Uh, hi! What's it like being a star-pilot?"

"Looks like an interfacing problem with the spatial parafield flux-converter unit. It'll take an hour to realign it, so you'd better shut the system down now."

"Look, there's no telling what's going to happen to your system if it doesn't get properly aligned within the next forty-eight hours. It needs to go down now so I can fix it!"

"Are you telling me I can't do my job? Are you hindering an employee of the Phone Company? Do you know what would happen if this system went down and maybe InStelComm just happened to not have any technicians to spare for a few weeks?"
