Dr. Antonelli is the oldest crewmember, at 38. Besides being an excellent doctor, he's an outstanding xenonaturalist, as well, and is well-equipped to handle any of the life sciences. He's no stranger to living in the wilds of a new planet, and is also capable of assessing the culture and intentions of the various odd races and splinter cultures the This Way Up encounters. Dr. Antonelli has trouble when the crew gets into a combat situation, as he's torn between trying to help the injured or help fight off the attack. This usually results in his doing neither. The good doctor takes a fair amount of ribbing about his balding head ("Doctor - heal thyself") and his prodigious appetite.
There's a version of Dr. Antonelli who belongs to the trouble-shooting XenoSolutions team: Aaron Wong.
