July 12, 2010: Double-Barrelled Blast From The Past

GURPS Classic: Alternate Earths 2 Space Gamer #29 It's Monday, the dreaded start of the week. One bright spot is checking out e23's most recent uploads. (I'm not saying you should do this at the office, to abuse the extra-large pipe you have there, but if you do, it would make a certain amount of sense. Who wants to pull down PDFs with your home network, especially if you're still using *shudder* dial-up?)

This week, we've got two classics. First, from the minds of Michael Schiffer, Craig Neumeier and Kenneth Hite, we present GURPS Classic: Alternate Earths 2. A half-dozen worlds are detailed within, diverging from our own timeline in interesting ways.

And for the follow-up, nostalgia fans and historians get Space Gamer #29! What was new in July 1980? With reviews, a short story with stats for The Fantasy Trip and AD&D, and an overview of gaming magazines of the time, this PDF contains all the ads as they were originally presented. I know the majority of the products advertised are long out of print, but for me, the old ads are the number one reason I seek out the magazines of yesteryear. And now that digital versions are being released, it's saving me a bundle in eBay bids!
