October 1, 2010:
Like peanut butter and chocolate, some things just go together . . . like Halloween and Cthulhu. This month, we'll start shipping the Cthulhu Dice Bag
. . .
October 2, 2010:
Look in the direction of the constellation Libra. Go out about 20 light years . . . see that red dwarf? . . .
October 3, 2010:
We don't usually discuss sales information, but this is a special case. We have already shipped all
of the Munchkin Boxes of Holding
and +6 Bag O' Munchkin d6
from our Atlanta warehouse to distributors . . .
October 4, 2010:
Read about it at rpggeek.com. Now look at his toy blog at Battlegrip.com . . .
October 5, 2010:
In the 1950s everyone "knew" massive exposure to atomic radiation would mutate you. It would also mutate the praying mantis in your garden, the corpses under the ground, and the slimy clog in your sink, turning them all into flesh-craving monsters . . .
October 6, 2010:
We have learned that the Polish company Q-Workshop, which produced the "Wicked Munchkin
Die" and the "Munchkin Cthulhu
Dice of Doom" under license, has shipped at least four other dice sets with the Munchkin
trademark and images, and with rules advertised as for use with Munchkin
. None of these four sets went through our approvals process, let alone GOT approval . . .
October 7, 2010:
This weekend is one of Arizona's biggest gaming conventions: RinCon. Our traveling minstrel Randy will be there, as will a small army of our MIBs . . .
October 8, 2010:
Remember earlier in the year, when we had the Munchkin Party Night Contest
, and Tribe, a local game store, won? Remember two years ago, when Tribe opened? . . .
October 9, 2010:

. . .
October 10, 2010:
As followers of our Twitter feed have heard, we're out of Zombie Dice
. Well, our warehouse is out (the actual warehouse, that is . . .
October 11, 2010:
I've actually been asked "What's Suppressed Transmission
about?" My answer is "It's Kenneth Hite writing about weird stuff." For many gamers, that's a perfectly complete answer, and one that usually compels a purchase. If you're not familiar with Mr . . .
October 12, 2010:
It's the Hallowe'en season once again, and we'll be closing on the Friday before (October 29) for games and frivolity. The office will be closed, as will Warehouse 23 and e23 . . .
October 13, 2010:
We've been experimenting with non-collectible, non-random boosters for Munchkin
(and now Illuminati
) for a year now. While we can guess by looking at sales figures that y'all like them (really, really
like them), we can't know just from the raw numbers what
you liked, and -- more important! -- what you want to see more of . . .
October 14, 2010:
His latest avatar is our new Cthulhu Dice Bag
. . . now in the warehouse, and shipping soon. Like so many of our projects, this one started with random chatter, but the design and development process followed a drastically different path from what we take with games . . .
October 15, 2010:
Oh the weather outside is frightful . . . well, it isn't now, but it might be in December, when these two lovely items will hit store shelves.
When Munchkin Dice
went out of print, some really great cards became unavailable. Now they're back as a new booster pack: Munchkin Reloaded!
All your favorite cards have returned: the Race modifiers Dark
, the class modifier Master
, and of course the Reloaded Die
(and we threw in an extra one, too!) . . .
October 16, 2010:
Munchkin Czar Andrew Hackard will be the gaming guest of honor -- sorry, "honour" -- at Pure Speculation Festival 2010 in Edmonton, Alberta, October 22-24. He's planning to talk about what's new with Steve Jackson Games, to try to explain his own convoluted path from the high school faculty lounge to Munchkin
World HQ, and of course to show off some unreleased games (including hosting a special charity game of Munchkin Zombies
!) . . .
October 17, 2010:
Zombie Dice is, for me, a game of extremes. Either I'm getting five, six, or even seven brains in a row, or I'm busting out with three shotguns in the first roll . . .
October 18, 2010:
Look, I've tried a dozen different ways to be clever about this, but it's all rubbish. The fact of the matter is:
is available on e23! . . .
October 19, 2010:
Loren Wiseman announced:
"The online Journal of the Travellers' Aid Society
will resume bi-weekly publication today, Tuesday, October 19th, 2010. I have recovered enough from my bypass surgery that I can take on the yoke of editorial duties once again, but I want to go slow, so there will only be two articles per issue until I feel up to undertaking more . . .
October 20, 2010:

One of the best things about October is the pumpkin carving. Some amazing artists use gourds as their medium, and some not-so-amazing artists produce hiliarious creations despite their lack of skill . . .
October 24, 2010:
I'm not talking about haunted houses, or anything supernatural. Ghost buildings are structures that have been abandoned in various stages of construction . . .
October 25, 2010:
Do you remember a week ago, when you were sitting around and muttering to yourself, "You know what's missing in my life? GURPS
information, templates, and suggestions for biomecha -- preferably written by one of the GURPS
big names, like David Pulver. Oh, and more game-ready pharmaceuticals, building off of (and compatible with) the drugs from GURPS Bio-Tech
. . .
October 26, 2010:

October 29, 2010:
Today is our Hallowe'en Game Day, one of those wonderful occasions when we put aside the work and just play games all day (and eat too much candy). And since it is the biggest dress-up day of the year, I'm sure Alex will be wearing something spooky . . .
October 30, 2010:
Do you love Cthulhu Dice
, but are having difficulty getting the idea of "Cthulhu cultist" across to the five-year-olds in the group? Or perhaps your wife would rather your toddler didn't tell his teacher that the Yellow Sign ate his sanity . . .
October 31, 2010:
Today's a great day. First off, it's Hallowe'en, one of our favorite holidays . . .
