Of course, the way to 'escape' given that they're human, is to corrupt the Tether: the presence of so many of Hells most evil must be doing some unpleasant things to the Tether. I wonder - how many Soldiers of Hell would it take? Find the ones who've been instrumental in Diabolical tether formation, carefully brief, program and warp them before send them off to get classified information and make sure that they get captured. Would it take 10? 100? 1000? How long before Notre Dame starts losing Word-Forces, as the fact that it is a prison, and home to the most evil humans alive, makes itself known? Hmm.... > What's that, you say? They still have to sleep. True enough. That's why the > cells are linked to little niches in the ethereal side of Blandine's Tower, > which holds the captive dreamscapes of the prisoners. Which would make Notre Dame a Forked Tether - logical enough given that Blandine has invested Forces in it. Or that they're playing with the Songs of Sanctity; which might slip up... A nitpick; he shouldn't have the Habbalah of Fate attunement, it's restricted. He might be able to persuade Furfur to give him Balseraph of Hardcore, though.... :-) James. ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 23 Oct 2001 22:23:16 +1100 From: "james walker" Subject: Re:IN> Fun With Remnants > Okay, so Remnants can't be perceived by Perception-based resonances. That was quite interesting, Beth. And no, Remnants don't create Disturbance except when consciously spending essence (CPG p92), so quite good assassins. To perfect them, all they need is a Relic with the Celestial Song of Succor. Regaining memories, Perception, and any lost Intelligence means that they can execute the mission perfectly. If they were soul-killed by angels (probable) hatred of Heaven would be normal. Baal would probably hand out the Weak Link attunement to his Remnant Assassins; this would allow then to detect a Cherub's Attuned. Beleth would equip them with her Calabite attunement (again, this will allow detecting attuned) and the Songs of Nightmares - given that Fear Discord is a penalty to a Cherub's dissonance rolls. Kronos, Kobal, Saminga - the list goes on: most DP's would want a team, wouldn't they? Good Work! It seems to me that Uriel's quest would have been a failure regardless of how many Ethereals were slain. Unless I'm mistaken, Ethereals can be not only nourished, but created by human imagination as well. For example, IMC Harry Potter is a new Ethereal and considered quite the up-and-comer. I suppose it all depends on how Ethereals work. Are they there and plant their images in humanity to gain Essence, or can humanity also create them? If it's the latter then Uriel's notion was doomed from the start.
