A lot of politicians in this country _profess_ to be Christian (which is to say, it's hard to get elected if you're an admitted non-Christian). I believe it was Eisenhower who reportedly said to his wife, upon learning that he'd won his party's nomination, "I guess we'll have to start going to church now..." > And it's the issue of even > wanting one's pockets filled that leads me to believe that > politicians in general would side with Hell -- but, for the > reasons you stated, none of them would be fool enough to do > it openly. Honestly, while I like bashing politicians as much as the next guy, I really don't think they're any more or less moral, on average, than any other profession. Politics tends to attract people with big egos and a lot of ambition, but that doesn't necessarily correlate to being selfish and corrupt. Hell would certainly have no problem recruiting politicians, but I would imagine Heaven could find plenty as well. (I envision Washington D.C. as being a place where NO ONE dares to make a disturbance outside of the Tethers -- the consequences of a Kyriotate in Congress or a Habbalite messing with the President could be so great, both sides watch all important personages like hawks, ready to intervene at the slightest sign of celestial meddling.) - -David ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 15 Nov 2001 16:15:57 -0800 (PST) From: Maurice Lane Subject: IN> Re: Lilim Superiors > > --- "William J. I bring it up only because, well, _I_ thought that it was cool, but it slipped beneath the surface with nary a ripple, and I've never quite been able to figure out why. Of course, if I could figure out what sparks responses and what doesn't, I'd be a happier lunatic... ;) Moe ===== Liber Licentiae Moeticae: http://www.stormloader.com/users/moelane/innomine.html Last updated 11/13/01(this is usually way out of date) __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!?
