The post for Fallen Corcorim will >follow any minute now. A little late. I've been out with friends today (and Eric, I owe you an apology). - -EDG Desserters As Brownies can Fall, so can their angelic brethren. A Fallen Cocorian, though rare, is a sight to see - its mottled, decaying skin can put a Habbalite to shame, and its ability to corrupt certain foods will send at least one Demon Prince screaming into the night. And that's just how Kobal likes it. Kobal is the major sponsor of the Desserters - in fact, it was he who gave them their name - and although the Fallen Cocorim have found their way into every organization in Hell (although few Cocorians have Fallen, Kobal's first impulse was to take one apart to see how it worked; now he's made a small army), the majority stay with the Prince of Dark Humor. RESONANCE A Desserter has a two-part resonance. He is gifted with the ability to corrupt and destroy chocolate- and coffee-based goods, as well as the power to inflict dislikes - even allergies - of these foods. DISSONANCE As chocolate and coffee are the life of Cocorim, so are they anathema to Desserters. To consume either substance in *any* quantity is dissonant for these demons. MANNER AND APPEARANCE In their celestial form, Desserters appear as molding, rotting versions of their Cocorian brothers, with peeling skin, bloodshot eyes, and mold and blisters covering their flesh. On the corporeal plane, they take vessels and Roles as bums, and the worst sort to boot - not only noisome and foul, but deliberately so, acting as uncouth and disgusting as they possibly can. These demons do not consider themselves instruments: instead, they're the noxious, roughshod guy grabbing all the food at the snack bar. GAME MECHANICS Desserters have a two-part resonance, based on Will: - - A Desserter may corrupt any food or drink that contains chocolate or coffee in any form. They can deal the check digit in Hits to the food (generating disturbance as a Calabite would), or they can age the food by months equal to (the check digit - 2), which causes no disturbance. - - A Desserter may also generate a dislike of coffee and/or chocolate, which lasts for the check digit in days. (This may be resisted with a Will roll, but only if the successful roll's check digit is equal to or higher than the Desserter's resonance roll.) At a check digit of 6, this actually generates an Allergy to the substance chosen (*either* coffee *or* chocolate), at a level equal to the Desserter's Celestial Forces, which also lasts for CD days. ------------------------------ End of in_nomine-digest V1 #2704 ********************************
