Occasionally dump him into a host which has a secret vice, like abusing animals, drugs, paedophilia, abuse, etc. -- something no good angel should overlook, but a Kyrio has to worry about damaging the host. That's always a nice fork. If you're annoyed by his access to memories, make him make an Inteligence or Perception roll to get the _right_ memories, when sorting through, and rule that otherwise he just gets to know stuff when he sees it. The way I rule it, it depends on if the human _embraces_ the action, or if the human is just forced. If the human embraces the fate or destiny, even if pushed, then it takes effect. If the human is fighting it every step of the way... (You can try to force fate or destiny -- but if you PUSH too hard, the Symphony pushes back. E.g., in our game, backstory on the Lilim Renegade is that she was repulsed by the tactics a Habbalite was using to drive a young girl to her fate -- a hooker murdered in a back alley by a seriel killer. (The Habbalite of Fate enthralled the target's father, the Shedite of Fate took the mother, and the Lilim was the only "friend" the girl could run away to -- who was then ordered to get the girl working for a pornography studio.) The Lilim ran into angels, and finally spilled the beans of her past assignment to the Seraph of Creation... in service to Destiny. Word got 'round to the right sorts, and the Habbalite was run out of town by an Ofanite while other angels went looking for the girl. So, not only did the girl not get hit with fate (though she may have a harder time going to destiny now), but the Habbalite's Role got pounded on somewhat. Oops. Pushy Fate Servitor, no donut.) Now, a Fate Servitor can always get a human doing things, via resonance, and hope the human gets a taste for it. But it can backfire, if the human hates it instead, and vows to never do it again. >Emeth, Seraph of Creation IST Destiny ponders: "How would *you* react if you >learned that angels killed your demon girlfriend?" Depends on if I thought she loved me or not. O:> Now, the GM can always rule otherwise, and say action is action, no matter who chose to do it. We are at War. Show no mercy. " Band Attunements: Balseraphim: Whenever they use their resonance to start or prolong any form of conflict, even just a shouting battle, they gain 1 Essence. 2 if the battle involved physical combat. They must be a participant in the conflict however, to gain Essence. Djinn: Djinn in Michael's service are generally back-up Demons. They are automatically attuned to a specific Demon of War and gain 1 Essence whenever they aid that Demon in any battle. Michael re-assigns them another Demon to attune to should the one they used to help dies. If not attuned to anyone at the time, Djinn of War find themselves attuned to Michael himself. They cannot, however, gain Essence this way when attuned to him. Calabim: Destroyers of War are Michael's second favorite Servitors. Most of his Captains are Calabim. Calabim who use their resonance to destroy an opponent's weapon before a battle gain 1 Essence after the battle. If there are multiple opponents or multiple weapons, they gain Essence equal to the number of weapons destroyed. Habbalah: The few Habbalah of War are always paired with Lilim, as their Band Attunements work well in combination. Habbalah gain 1 Essence whenever they use their resonance to make a person feel the Need to fight someone. 2 if the person is someone the target doesn't know. Lilim: His step Daughters are Michael's most favored Demons. First, they gain a Geas/2 on a person if that person Needs to fight someone, and the Lilim provided them a weapon. For 1 Essence, they can add their Celestial Forces to a Geas attempt to make the Geased aid the Lilim in battle indirectly. This may be done by providing a weapon, knowledge of a weakness but never actually fighting. When not assigned a specific task, they are Michael's supply managers, getting other Demons, no matter who they serve, what they Need. <>sidebar<> Michael and Lilim Geasa Michael has the interesting arrangement with his Lilim that most Princes, if not all, are jealous of. For every Geas that a Lilim of War has on a Demon working for another Prince, 1 level of that Geas the Demon must pay to Michael. The sole exception are obviously for Geas/1s, which only the Lilim must be paid. Michael generally takes payment in the form of Essence, or in service time. No other Prince has made an arrangement like this, and only Lilith is capable of doing so. To make sure that the Lilim get paid, it is dissonant for *all* Demons to not pay a Lilim of War who is collecting a Geas. He's lord of all Hell, he can do that. <>end sidebar<> Shedim: Shedim of War become dissonant whenever they leave the host's body without engaging it in a battle. If they do, they gain 1 Essence, but only if they actually see that battle to it's conclusion. Impudite: Whenever they have hostile forms of physical contact, such as punching, with a person, they can use their resonance to take 1 Essence per contact. This explains why most Impudites of War are martial artists, boxers or street fighters. Servitor Attunements: Strike With Great Vengeance: For 1 Essence per damage taken, they can add that same amount of damage to their next attack. This may be done until the Demon no longer has Essence or the target has been hit. For example, an Angel hits the holder of this attunement for 2 damage, for 2 Essence the Demon can add an extra 2 damage to the damage to his next attacks until it hits. Unholy Frenzy: Holders of this attunement can take twice the damage they normally do whenever in battle. However, they lose 1 Essence per point of damage taken in excess. Distinctions: Knight of The First Strike: Knights of War can instantly cause the corporeal death of a person with a single attack, provided that the target does not know of the Demon's presence before the attack is actually done and that the target has equal or less Corporeal Forces than the Demon. If the target has more corporeal Forces, or if Celestial, the damage is just doubled. This little ability came to Michael when he stabbed Lucifer in the back. Captain of War Mongers: Captains of War are masters at making people start fighting for no sensible reason. They can sense any underlying hatred or bitterness towards another person or group, and with a touch, they can make a person use that reason to start a conflict. They gain 1 Essence for every 5 participants in a battle they caused that they did not involve directly. Baron of Conscription: For 1 Essence per target, they can make a target fight a battle for the Demon. The number of targets however, is limited to the number of the Demon's Forces on that plane and may only be used on those within the Demon's line of sight. This cannot be countered with a Will Roll. Also, if the Demon participates in the battle with the targets, they no longer have to pay the Essence cost. Those targeted by this are subject to the Demon's control until the Demons or Michael himself releases them, or until they die. Basic Rites: - -kill an Angel ( 1 for Corporeal, 2 for Celestial, 3 for Soul-Death ) - -start a small scale, armed conflict such as a riot - -participate in a violent uprising - -use the weapon of an opponent against them - -kill an opponent who has surrendered to you. Superior Opinions: Andrealphus ( Renegade ): I *will* make that Balseraph pay for casting me out of Hell......... "The weak do not have a place in my army." Asmodeus: I am loyal to him. As he ordered me to, I will ensure no Renegades survive for too long. "His failure to execute the traitor-Princes is a large stain on his record, though he does his job well otherwise." Baal ( Redeemed ): I cannot even remember why I sided with him in the first place. There is no Valor in defying your creator. "You will pay for your betrayal, Seraph. Mark my words. It will be worse for you than any other Angel when my Hordes break down Heaven's gates." Beleth: I owe him my Word and Princedom. He is the one being I fear, for he has no fears. "I trust her greatly. After all, if the enemy are shaking in their boots, they can't fight very well, can they?" Belial: In the old days, him, me and Lilith were unstoppable. Now, we're still pretty much unstoppable. "With every great War of the past, there was a great blaze. War is never complete without a Fire to top it all off." Kobal ( Renegade ): War used to be funny. Now, it's just.....War. "As with Andrealphus, Humor, Dark or Light, is of little use in a battle." Kronos: War can be the ultimate instrument of bringing people to their Fates. "He is my grand magistrate. I must admit, he does a better job at it than Beleth ever did." Malphas: Losing a War can be a really bitter thing to happen, and often causes another War to start up later on. In both cases, we both win. "Factions are merely two groups that haven't settled their differences on the battlefield yet. His work helps them along." Nybbas: Ooh, news about Wars don't get too many ratings, but War movies are sure-fire blockbusters!! "He is slowly proving himself useful. And I do enjoy the attention he gives Wars in the news Media. He may be worth keeping, unlike two other Impudites I could name." Oblivion: He will forget Lilith one day, and when he does, she will be mine. "She will pay for attempting to steal my bride from me. Just she wait." Valefor: When people win Wars, looting the loser's stuff starts. With him as boss, that's pretty common. "He steals secrets from Heaven and gives them to me. Far more useful than Rapine would have been. I am pleased he won their duel." Vapula: He lets me work on new toys a lot, and provides opportunities to field test them too. "His devices can be extremely destructive, utterly useless, or both." And of course, his wife..... Lilith: What is War without Death, you ask? Can a War have no casualties? No. "When Heaven's gates fall, I will take my rightful place as lord of all Creation, and she will sit by my side, my queen." <>sidebar<> Concering Oblivion Oblivion was granted her Word to ensure Lilith does not remember who she was before Michael granted her the Word of Death. The likelyhood of that however, is slim, as whatever part of Lilith's soul that has not been warped by the Word and Michael's resonance is now an Angel in Novalis' service. However, Oblivion grew to love the Dark Lilith, which Michael finds irritating. He keeps her around only becasue he plans to send her and her Servitors as the first wave in the final battle. <>end sidebar<> Appearance: Michael appears not like a snake, as most Balseraphim, but like the chinese dragon, with a ferocious seventh eye at the forehead, two hands with four vicious talons and blood stained scales. He rarely appears in Hell alone, either wrapped around Lilith, or with two Djinn walking behind him. When on Earth, he appears as a man in a black suit, handsome, yet a look into his red eyes reflect a dark inner drive to fight. Well, that's it for Mike. Now, for Lilith. __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? Yahoo! These two bands of demons can use their Infernal powers to essentially make people do bad things - bad things which might result in people embracing their Fate. If a Shedim possess someone and convinces him to murder another - who gets the karmic bad juju? The human or the Shedim? Is there some fuzzy gray line between the human's reasons and actions and those of the Shedim? Likewise, if a Lilim invokes a Geas to do the same thing does the Symphony care that the human was not acting of his own free will? Is the murder still on the human's hands or is it just another stain on the Lilim's laundry list of evil?
