It does seem like a really interesting project, and I've read at least some of them over in detail; the INverse Hell was my favourite thus far, I think. So I was just wondering if there were plans to make them a little more accessable. I think that it's passed the point now of being list-trivia and gone into the fully fleshed-out heresy range. I've just had a chance to read over all the QoH stuff again on the INC, and it's really nice to have these multi-part heresies together in one place; it makes them so much more coherant than the bite-sized chunks. So I just wanted to pass kudos over to EDG and our other collection-maintainers at the same time as the request. - -- Julian Mensch ------------------------------ Date: Sat, 12 Oct 2002 03:01:16 +0200 (CEST) From: Unni Solaas Subject: Re: IN> Collecting the INverse Writeups; random cheerleading On Fri, 11 Oct 2002, Julian Mensch wrote: > I was just wondering if there was any plan to collect > the full INverse writeups on the web somewhere so that > they could be gone over at leisure. Heh... funny you should mention all this, I actually am going to get it webbed, and very soon at that, I just want to have my framework and a good number of Superiors completed before I put it all up. So far, I have a skeleton for the world history, all the Superiors listed, a genreral idea of who does what and why, all of Hell mapped out (I even drew a detailed map I want to put up sometime), most of Heaven mapped (qorking on a map for that one), a few Servitors in mind, and a framework for the flavor of the world. In all actuality, I would want to ask the members of the list if they would like to participate in helping my create this world; i.e., write Superiors, create background story, and so on. I -do- want this to be a fleshed out world liek Tattered is, and I have the incentive, creative drive and desire to do so. It's just that it's a big thing, and nearly 50 Superiors are still left to be written, and that's a lot ^^; I would post the list of Superiors that are available for writing, but I already pushed my 10k privelege for the day, and don't want to risk it. I'll post it tomorrow. --- Sirea, Free Cherub IST Destiny, Angel who Wanders, petitioner for the Word of Eternity ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 11 Oct 2002 19:53:46 -0600 From: sirea@softhome.net Subject: Re: IN> Collecting the INverse Writeups; random cheerleading > There are plans to do that, yes. Ah well, I am -almost- ready, I promise, within a week or two I'll send a good chunk of stuff I have made, sorry ^_^; I just want to send stuff that'll work in a game, I want it to be balanced, sensible and well written, since this is a big hobby of mine and maybe even a precursor to what I may want to do some day, so I tend to make it only the best it can be. I apologize for list-flooding with all the stuff I make, I just want to share it and make sure it's checked by other people, since I don't see my own mistakes -_-; > > > ...unless y'all start to do some nice and polite prodding.... Come to think of it, the canon Pax Dei may just be the universal application of some of these discords on all beings in Heaven. Hm... NERFED - most often a Corporeal discord, but could also be Ethereal or Celestial A Nerfed Celestial does less damage than they would otherwise. Typically, this discord is the result of a guilty conscious over harming someone the Servitor should not have or a punishment for a Servitor's failure to act decisively in combat. Likely suffers include Cherubim who have managed to harm their attuned, violent Mercurians, careless Impudite, Servitor's of Flowers, and Servitors of either War or The War who held back when they should not have. The celestial suffering from Nerfed subtracts the level of the discord from any damage he does in the realm affected. Strangely enough, this discord does effect ranged attacks, although only for the discord holding celestial. However the celestial could also be... MUNCHED - The Munchkin version of Nerfed (Use at your own risk) Not only does the affected celestial do less damage, but any weapon within the area of effect of the discord for one turn will do less damage as well as per Nerfed above. The definition of weapon is open to interpretation, but if you've gone this far, you might as well go all the way and declare that a vessel's "natural" weapons are affected as well. The discord has an area of effect in yards equal to the discord level x the celestial's forces in the governing realm. Now, sane GMs would never allow this in their games, but they might allow... HOSED - The GM's answer to MUNCHED GM: "Fine. You want a ranged discord that effects others. Okay, I got one here. Mwuhahaha!" PC: "You're laughing in fear of my gaming prowess right?" Hosed works much liked Munched except that all weapons in the area of effect work normally when used against the Hosed celestial. Now true Munchkins might accept this limitation and work around it for their own nefarious purposes. To minimize such munchkin behavior, and make the discord more playable, you can have any affected targets make a Will roll to resist the effects of Munched or Hosed. It's Good to be the GM. In the history, I had it that Mike managed to cajole and trick Lucifer into agreeing with him, stoking the Lightbringers cold Pride for the angelic race. Lucy only managed to break himself of his delusions when Mike slayed the Metatron, and then refused to aid his older brother any more. While in this world ethereals work for Heaven (the good ones- bad ones are tossed to the areas where Uriel's Servitors patrol the Marches), Quetzalcoatl would make an excellent symbol/partner for Lucifer. It works! ^_^ Thanks again Josh. --- Sirea, Free Cherub IST Destiny, Angel who Wanders, petitioner for the Word of Eternity ------------------------------ End of in_nomine-digest V1 #2817 ********************************
