Y'all should come to the con next year. Anyway, just so I can actually go to sleep, here's a little Discord for everyone. Forgive all typos: we celebrated the game session by hitting the bar, and it may show. :) Moe "Yes, it was that sort of game" Lane Involuntary Vessel Switch (Corporeal) This is a fairly rare Discord: Superiors tend not to tolerate problems that could reveal the existence of supernatural powers. Thus, it is mostly found among Outcasts/Renegades/Servitors of Creation and/or Divine Fire; in other words, the usual suspects. In short, this Discord causes an instantaneous switch in vessels whenever an external triggering mechanism is activated. This switch does not cause Essence, but does cause disturbance equal to the (user's total Forces x 2). If the user does not have a backup vessel, then he or she will end up in Trauma/Limbo for the normal amount of time: needless to say, most sufferers of this Discord are careful to acquire and keep multiple vessels. The rarity of the triggering mechanism depends on the level of the Discord: those with IVS/1 only switch when, say, encountering a left-handed dwarf singing show tunes, hot/cold water is a good example for IVS/3, and those with IVS/6 switch every time that they (for example) hear the word "it". Needless to say, other celestials react at -1/level to sufferers of this Discord. ===== Liber Licentiae Moeticae: http://www.stormloader.com/users/moelane/innomine.html Last updated 09/18/02 (this is usually way out of date) __________________________________________________ Do you Yahoo!? IIRC, the mechanics for Force-stripping are nonexistent because, in canon, this is something that PC's aren't supposed to be capable of. Ethereals may have some ability to subsume other Ethereals -- this is touched on in _The Marches_, but I don't know what's in the EPG about it. =====

It's wonderful. Wrong, yes, but hillariously wrong! ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 19 Jan 2003 20:29:45 -0800 From: "Joey's mail" Subject: IN> INverse Malakim I was always uncomfortable with the idea of Malakim and Lilim both originating from Heaven...it didn't seem right, although I do like Lilim originating in Heaven, and don't want to cut Malakim from Hell entirely. There was the additional factor that I don't think that any INverse Archangels, with the exception of perhaps Baal, would be a fitting Malakite, and having David as a Djinn just didn't seem right, so I humbly present to you, the definitive Infernal Malakim. Malakim, The Prideful The Malakim are Hell's greatest warriors, and for good reason; they have too much pride to loose. Moving with diabolical speed and deadly grace, they are the horror of many an Angel. If it weren't for the Malakim, Michael probably would never have destroyed as much of the Host as he had in the beginning. Malakim have no divine analog; they are too prideful to seek Redemption, as those who become Renegades firmly believe they are still above both Heaven and Hell. The Malakim were first discovered with Uriel's fall; his Pride blossomed from within him, and he took the oaths of Pride that lead him to become the Prince of Perfection. Instead of twisting into a devlishly twisted Balseraph, his feathery wings were torn to shreads, blackened, and dripped with blood. David soon followed, and eventually Hell had a horde of Warriors, which would have overtaken Heaven if not for a stalward squadron of Cherubim in service to Baal. After Falling, the Malakim pledged themselves to not only their own Pride, but also Michael's. They became Michael's favorite minions, although even he knows that even the weakest Malakite thinks of himself as superior to Michael, but the mighty Balseraph believes they will never pose a threat to him. There have been no recorded attempts to Redeem a Malakite, but most of Heaven thinks that the Malakite's pride would rip him apart first. Some Malakim dress as extravagantly as any Balseraph, while some prefer a more grungey look, with tattoos and scars recording their victories. In their Celestial forms, Malakim look like scarred, shadowey humans with broken, feathery wings, exposing bone and dripping blood. RESONANCE: The Malakim have a resonance for Pride. With an eerie stare, they can detect what actions a human has done that they find prideful, and what shameful acts they have done, according to that person's own personal standards. They also gain an estimation of how much pride or humility a person has; woe to the humble or shameful in the presence of an angry Malakite. This requires a perception role, and the check didgit tells how much the Malakite finds; 1--The greatest or lowest deed the person has one in the last week, according to that person's personal pride. 2--The most greatest AND lowest deeds that person has done in the last week, according to their personal pride. 3--The most prideful or shameful thing the person has done that month; and any one thing that has humbled that person in the past three days. 4--The most prideful and shameful thing the person has done that month, and anything that has humbled them or bolstered their pride in the last three days. 5--The subject's greatest pride and worst shame. 6--The Malakite knows EXACTLY how prideful or humble the subject is. This will also allow a Malakite to detect Seraphim, the most humble servitors of Heaven. DISSONANCE A Malakite will NOT disgrace himself. He simply won't; doing so wrenches his soul. Malakim all take at least four oaths of pride, and two are always the same; Never admit defeat, and Never Suffer an Angel to Live. Malakim who take many oaths are viewed with a begrudging respect by other Malakim. Breaking such an oath shatters the Malakite's pride, and forces him to shameful dissonance. Other example oaths are: Never demean myself by groveling or pleading (Michael has issues with Malakim who take oaths like this...) Never admit anyone other than a Demon Prince as my superior in combat Always have the last word in a dispute (or last blow in a fight) Never allow anyone other than Michael claim they or their Superior is stronger than mine Spend at least two hours a day perfecting the art of Combat Comments? ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 19 Jan 2003 19:33:45 -0700 From: Brian Westcott Subject: IN> Children of Grigori and C.O.B.R.A. I recently purchased GURPS In Nomine, In Nomine You Are Here and GURPS Who's Who #2. I've ordered a copy of GURPS Who's Who #1 and will be getting that later this week or next week. I really enjoyed the section about the Grigori and the Children of the Grigori in GURPS In Nomine a lot! In fact, that is what I will base C.O.B.R.A. on for my web site. An organization based on Grigori and the Children of Grigori. My C.O.B.R.A. Commander character will be either a Grigori or Children of Grigori. Also, C.O.B.R.A. will ally itself with some Ethereals, that way we can avenge ourselves on the Angels and protect ourselves from the Demons and Sorcerers at the same time. And next month, the Ethereal Player's Guide will be available for purchasing! I really hope so, because I want a copy of it real bad!
