Maybe. ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 07 Feb 2003 08:48:48 -0700 From: sirea@softhome.net Subject: IN> INverse Superior: (Part II) Laurence, Impudite Demon Prince of the Blade *Dissonance* Refusing to aid anyone who serves the cause of Hell, be they demon, Soldier, undead, Infernal Saint or Fated human. The demon must give any aid he can, for he is a blade of Hell, cutting down all who oppose the dark will of Michael. It is also dissonant to bring shame to the name of Hell; it must be respected and feared. Servitors of the Blade are expected to behave with integrity, dignity, and honor. *Band Attunements* (Each Band has their own unique moniker in Laurence’s service) Balseraphim (Restricted): The Balseraph may add his Ethereal Forces to his resonance when he is trying to convince someone that he is on the side of good or evil. They are Laurence’s Lords. Djinn (Restricted): Djinn of the Blade can only attune to one human at a time, but when they do, the demon may choose to make the human his loyal "squire", acting as a faithful servant to the dark knight. The human becomes a Servant Resource at a level equal to the demon's Celestial Forces. In addition, the human will act with the same code of honor that the Djinn possesses, if any. They are Laurence’s Knights. Calabim (Restricted): A Calabite of the Blade may manifest his resonance physically, his target does not get a Will roll to resist, but they may Dodge the attack. This may appear as a sword striking from nowhere, or small blades jutting from the ground underneath the target, it is up to the Calabite. They are Laurence’s Assassins. Habbalah (Restricted): The resonance of a Habbalite of Laurence may be used on groups, affecting several people at once. When rolling for resonance, the Habbalite may now affect up to her Celestial Forces in people, but the more people she affects, the more distilled the emotion becomes. Fury used on two people will make them lash out for a little less longer than if used on just one, while used on six people would only make them all quite irritable. When rolling for Will resistance, use the highest Will in the group of people the Habbalite is resonating upon. They are Laurence’s Generals. Honorium (Restricted): Venerated soldiers of the infernal army, Warriors of the Blade may add their Celestial Forces to the check digit of any resonance roll they make. They are Laurence’s Samurai. Dark Lilim (Restricted): If a Dark Lilim of Laurence attempts to Geas someone with the intention to make them help the cause of Hell, she may add her targets Celestial Forces to the level of the Geas placed. They are Laurence’s Recruiters. Shedim (Restricted): A Shedite of the Blade may possess objects that weigh no more than his Forces in pounds, and for one Essence, instill the object with unholy power, giving it a deadly edge with Power equal to the Shedite's Corporeal Forces. They are Laurence’s Weapons. Impudites (Restricted): If an Impudite of the Blade gets into a duel, he may Charm his opponent automatically -if- he manages to defeat his opponent without inflicting any Body hits, through disarming, a potentially fatal situation, or anything else that forces the Impudite's foe to give up. They are Laurence’s Fencers. Skulkers: Laurence holds an especial love for the Band known as Skulkers, for they, like he, are close to humanity and understand each other well. As befits the hidden nature of the Dark Grigori, they may hide a number of objects that weigh no more than 5 pounds a piece on their person equal to their Corporeal Forces times two. These objects (which cannot be weapons, but it can be ammunition) can be summoned one at a time (once per round). They are Laurence’s Rouges. *Servitor Attunements* Blood Hunt: Same as the canonical Hunt attunement. Sheath: Same as the canonical Scabbard attunement. Blade Blessing of Lord Laurence: Same as the canonical Blade Blessing of Laurence attunement. Dark Sword: For 2 Essence, the demon may create a parasitic field of darkness around his weapon, and use it to absorb the damage dealt to his foe. The next hit the demon lands will absorb the damage done in hits appropriate to the damage inflicted. For example, if the demon uses the attunement, and manages to inflict 7 Body hits with his next attack, he will gain those 7 Body hits for himself. This does not allow the demon to go over his original limit of hits. An Eye for Potential: When looking at a human, the demon can spend one Essence and determine if they are a Soldier of Hell, a Hellsworn, or an Infernal Saint. The demon may also spend 3 Essence and for her next Celestial Forces in hours, she can look at a human and know if they have the potential for a sixth Force. Laurence has small groups of demons and humans with this attunement that he sends out at regular intervals, to check up on other humans in Hell's service, and more importantly, to try to recruit those humans who are nearing the time of their awakening. An Army of One: This is a powerful attunement that requires that the demon use it in tandem with a group of demons equal to his Celestial Forces (including himself). It costs an amount of Essence equal to each demon's Ethereal Forces, and every demon must use it at the same time. This forms a powerful gestalt between the demons, who can now share thoughts with one another for the next 6 hours! Unfortunately, this also inflicts a special variant of the Selfless Discord upon each demon- none of them can do anything selfish that does not -directly- serve the cause of Hell without a Will roll minus their Celestial Forces. Lastly, if one of the demons suffers Trauma, all the demons in the link must roll versus Will or be stunned for the next 10 rounds! Example: Sorya, a Calabite of the Blade, has 4 Celestial Forces and 2 Ethereal Forces. She will need to link up with 3 other demons who also have the attunement. When used, she will spend 2 Essence to link up (the other 3 demons will spend Essence equal to their own individual Ethereal Forces). For the next 6 hours, she and the other 3 demons will be in constant perfect mental communication, but must act selflessly in regards to serving the cause of Hell, nd if one of them dies, they will all be left vulnerable to attack. For the Firstborn!: In an act of supreme "selflessness", the demon may sacrifice his vessel in order to ensure victory for his companions, or failure for his foe. For Essence equal to the realm that the demon has the most Forces in, and the life of his corporeal vessel, the demon may become a sacrifice in Michael's name, attracting the Firstborn’s attention for a brief second. In game terms, the player creates an Infernal Intervention that the GM may use however he sees fit, to either aid the players or hinder the opposition. Abuse of this attunement -will- anger both Laurence and the Firstborn, and will incur severe repercussions, so demons are advised to use it only when most needed. *Distinctions* Knight of the Blade: These demons know no fear- they are afraid of nothing, having a deadly confidence in everything they do. They are not foolhardy however; they will know when they cannot handle a situation. Captain of Hell's Soldiers: When fighting someone, the demon can roll Perception to see how powerful his foe actually is. He will know how many Forces his foe possesses, and a general idea of his combat ability, compared to the demons own. Baron of the Legions of Michael: Same as the canonical Master of the Armies of God attunement. *Relations* Allied: Michael, Uriel, Dominic Associated: All the others Hostile: Khalid, Christopher *Rites* -Spend two hours praying to Michael and Hell -Slay a member of the Host (+2 Essence) -Make a human into a Soldier of Hell (+2 Essence) -Aid a member of the Horde -Forge a sword for personal use Chance of Invocation: 4 Laurence is brimming with zeal and love for the cause of Hell, and he makes a note to get personal with each and every recruit he brings into the ranks of the Blade. He doesn't baby his Servitors however- in the legions of Hell, there can be no weak souls, for the army of Michael is only as strong as it's weakest link. But still, Laurence cannot help but to show off his obvious skill and flair, and he loves to watch his Servitors gape in awe as he effortlessly destroys the filthy angels who dare to cause his beloved minions harm. *Invocation Modifier* +1 A practice sword +2 A member of the Horde in danger +3 An angel from the House of War +4 A page from the original Book of Revelations +5 A sword directly blessed by Michael or Laurence +6 An Archangel from the House of War ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 07 Feb 2003 11:40:50 -0500 From: BC Petery Subject: IN> Kinda sorta not really a new heresy... > Nybbas as a Habbalite Televangelism. =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= > ObIN: Weirdness Singularity I always wondered what happened to the Infinite Improbability Drive. 42. ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 7 Feb 2003 11:34:45 -0800 From: Daiv Subject: Re: IN> Kinda sorta not really a new heresy... > >http://www.stormloader.com/users/moelane/innomine/heretics/BlandineH.htm > >Comments welcome, as always. > >Moe I like that. It's on Moe's site. He did a IN rendering of unicorns as evolved predators that managed to assume a corporeal form in order to hunt down virgins and anyone else they could eat. > Also, of the Tsayadim; are they officially part of IN, or are >they just a really good idea, that may or not ever become canon. I believe they are part of Canon. Uriel is a touchy subject when it comes to canon, but the Tsaydim are the Purity bogeymen that still hunt all the little ethereals who don't mind their Pantheon.
