[blink] Not that this invalidates your point about the increasing complexity of modern vehicles, but Mercedes has added a *brake*-by-wire[1] system to some of their new models. I haven't heard anything about *fly*-by-wire which is something generally used in controlling missiles and such. Can't think of any practical applications for operating consumer vehicles. ... I get to sum up two response in one!) This is sort of what I've been building at in my campaign. I had to decide for myself the nature of the universe (including all three planes) before I could start things. It's a messy explanation but essentially the universe is a sphere. At the "bottom" of this sphere is the corporeal plane. At the "top" is the celestial plane which sort of gets mixed up as Heaven and Hell take up the same space. In between is the Ethereal plane. As mankind explores space it will be possible for them to "fly" to heaven and hell. It will be a very strange and LONG journey but still possible. Since humans can't make hell any worse, the diabolical plan is to get them to go to heaven and try corrupting it that way. This is where I am finding the Celeste thread very interesting because she is a good counter to my Demon Prince of Ether that has been building up. I may have to rework things to include her. Humans who stay in bed till noon and neglect their obligations, who are habitually late for work, or whose lateness in bed is due to being hung over are the responsibility of the Demon of Sleeping Late. Eudora is the one who watches over Saturday mornings, retired people, vacationers, newlyweds, and parents the day after the children leave for summer camp. Word friction doesn't seem to be a problem, or at least Eudora hasn't noticed any. She knows there's a standing price on her head from the Demon of Sleeping Late, but she's smart, careful, and hard to catch, to say nothing of having a standing bodyguard of Cherubim of Flowers and Malakim of Creation and Destiny. Blandine and Eudora have had an excellent relationship for a long time; those who spend quality time in the realm of Dreams are frequently providing Eudora with essence as well. A well-rested, slow, and luxurious awakening is also fertile ground for the works of Eli; many an artist has been able to reproduce a dream or subconscious idea when he awakened late in the morning which might have been lost had he been awakened by an alarm clock. The bodyguards from Destiny are a recent addition, hand-picked and appointed by Yves. As usual for Yves, he did not offer an explanation (except possibly to Eudora), but rumor has it that there are several humans who are still alive to pursue their Destinies because they slept late on the morning of September 11, 2001.
