My luck with perfect bound books has not been great, and I don't want to add to the problem. And, by the way, when you get the pages printed they are *very* nice. One of the problems that I had with the character sheets presented in the book was that the slots and boxes were too small for my large hand. ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 29 Jun 1997 02:31:41 -0400 From: "Thomas Davidson" Subject: IN> The PDF Character sheets... a Question I hate to nitpick a sheet that is so well done, but.... I do have a question about the PDF Character Sheets, however. On the left hand side, there is a column marked "Forces:" What does that mean? And what is intended to go into this column? Was this intended to be "Resources"? (This would make more sense) Also, what's with the dots? What do they mean? Thomas Davidson tdavidso@suffolk.lib.ny.us - ------------------------- Don't panic! Early Heinlein best exemplifies this -- it's escapist literature, as SF has been accused of being, in that it suggests escape hatches for problems the mainstream didn't yet recognize as problems (cf "Blowups Happen"). >In the >seventies, it started moving toward, insurmountable problems and fear for >the future. Yeah these were no wimps. For a start they were the last of their kinds. All the easy monsters (dragons, unicorns, gorgons, cyclopses, elves and such) had been pushed out or killed by humans long ago. Same with the rival Gods. The small fry had already gone down long ago, only major cultural figures or serious pantheons would have remained. The other factor in Uriel's Crusade was the lack of quarter. Uriel didn't want to get control over the remaining Gods or corral the last dragon he wanted to wipe them out. Even the initial War against the Fallen wasn't that savage. >(For myself, I prefer the view that they all had separate Celestial homes and were >(and still are, for those who survived), a form of Celestial...) Agreed, it might be worth considering Heaven as just another part of the Ethereal Plane, all be it one that is now separated and differentiated to a large degree. In that case all the spirits, Ethereal and Celestial are the same, it is just that the Celestial ones belong to the most successful "Brand". >> Secondly they might have gone to work for other Archangels. Uhuh, the non-Word Bound wouldn't have had too much choice in the matter is my slant. The Word Bound could always have petitioned the Seraphic Council for promotion to Arch status, as seemed to happen with Lawrence and Khalid, but the others are going to have to work for someone. The ones that already worked under a surviving Word Bound would probably have moved where ever they did, others might be head hunted by interested Archangels or maybe start again with another AA at a lower level. IMHO Uriel was taken upstairs because he was half a step form Falling. No real reason just my feeling, though it makes an interesting progression from the AA of Light to Purity and makes you wonder who might be next to fail? >> Thirdly given our experience of Purity in the last few centuries has it >> turned more towards the Diabolic.
