Those places are ran by Marc at best, Haagenti at worst. I dunno, I play it kind of fast and loose. Archangels appear in the most unassuming forms and in the strangest of places, and sometimes ask their servitors to play along. It's another thing I do to add to their mystique. In my campaign, Eli would have no qualms about visiting a McDonalds. It's the human thing to do, after all. And besides, who cares about a few cold french fries when the woman behind the counter needs encouragement to sit down and actually write out her idea for a bestselling novel? I'm also planning on having Yves meet one of the PCs in a Blockbuster Video. At one point, he'll see two men in the adult video section, nonchalantly pick out a video, and hand it to one of the men. Take my word for it, the scene takes on a rather surreal turn after that... ...or is my campaign starting to sound more and more beyond the pale every time I post? - -David ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 17 Aug 1997 00:46:09 -0400 From: Tony DeGeorge Subject: IN> in_nomine-digest V1 #297 -Reply I'll be out of the office from August 15th through the 24th, back again on August 25th. For pronunciation, I tend to go with French, what our fine game having French origins and all. So, Jean == Jhan (cum Jean-luc Piccard) Yves == eeves (as in Yves St. Laurent) etc. For Baal, the classic tradition, Baal = Bale For the easily anglasized, (David, Michael, etc.) I stick with the familiar pronunciations; I go back and forth on "Laurence." ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 17 Aug 1997 16:21:00 -0400 From: Frank Lazar Subject: Re: Celestials and Computers (Re: IN> Humans and Skills) >At 8:30 AM -0400 8/15/97, John Karakash - Lucent ASCC wrote: > >BTW, why does the Elohim of Jean attunement give only a few >minutes'-worth of computer time with the thing? Between the surge and the blast damage, every round in the thing is gonna go off, and the gun is likely to explode, in *addition* to the 3d6 points of damage from the initial zap. Sure, your reach the other end of the gun real fast and have to leave, but hey, another 3d6 to the holder can't hurt, huh? I think this is too cool and clever to simply outlaw, so I balanced it by having the Ofanim take damage from the conductor going kablooie. It's certainly a reason for Vapula to step up production of plastic/ceramic guns tho. :) Oh, and another one: This hinges on the theory that OoJ *love* superconductors - sort of a "Perfect Wave" Zen thing. So you put a superconducting loop in your electrical system (Use it to levitate frogs if you so desire.) and a fast switch to isolate it. So if an OoJ comes snooping around, you're prepared. Actually, I thought the thread was dead. It got revived again, and since the comments were addressed to things I said, I replied. There are a lot of threads on this list that I consider fluff and have no interest in reading, but as long as it's about In Nomine, I'm not going to tell other people to only post to discussions that interest *me*. - -David<< Many apologies. I wasn't posting with the intent of stifling the discussion, but after reading the posts I always felt that noone had advanced any further in their argument. There was no intent to insult or censor anyone, but with every post responded to individually, and very frequently, there didn't seem to be much else coming through the list. Once again, apologies if I was out of line, but I'd rather not killfile anything just cause of one thread.
