(Probably.) I think having had a few key Archangels killed, maybe early during the war, and the effect on the world is worse than if they just left, might be interesting. Take Novalis for example: If she leaves, then maybe the flowers don't bloom so bright or smell so sweet; if she's killed in the first exchange, you've got crops that refuse to grow, and a really miserable world. <> For some reason, I was of the impression that Bladine and Beleth had killed each other during the war, and that was why the Marches were now totally clear. I don't know, sounds kind of poetic and proper to me, somehow. <> I can't see the war ending without Gabriel and Belial finally having it out. Even if they did, I can't see Belial turning off the flamethrower long enough for anyone to tell him that they had lost. He'd just keep going until either all the angels were dead, or he was. And since Heaven won, there's not much reason for Gabriel to stay. <> You know, I just had a weird image of Janus acting as guide to those souls who want to reach Heaven. Maybe he just guides them down the Volcano for the last leg of the journey. Maybe he pops up several times along the journey. I don't know why, but this works for me. *shrug* Just a thought. <> Hmmm... If Heaven is sealed off, how do animal souls get there? Has anyone tried to follow them? <> Hmmm... Novalis on Earth, operating from a hidden, peaceful grove, a new Garden of Eden. (Or the original Garden of Eden?) Only the pure of heart can find it - or rather, be led to it by Novalis's remaining servitors. This has some possibilities. <> Not if children are still being born. I can very easily see him staying. Assuming he survived, which I would have some doubts about. Like I said, just some thoughts. Ignore them at your leisure. Actually, I heard Maya and Em (and Jo?) had talked about this at one point, and they (for some value of they) came up with the explanation that Yves and Kronos were personifications of the "end notes of the Symphony" or some such. (If I'm getting this totally wrong out of my head, you lot, tell me.) So they're aspects of God/avatars of the Symphony who represent end-points. If one or the other triumphs, it will be as if the other never existed. Pfft. Humanity has the free will to choose between them, and thus direct which aspect of the Symphony is going to _be_ the end-notes. Will humanity move to destiny, letting Yves the the True Aspect of God, or will they move to fate, causing Kronos to be the True (Fallen) Aspect? I haven't had breakfast yet, so I'm rambling, but that's one way to think of the pair. >This would imply that if there is a >victory by swaying humanity then God is also affected, profoundly. - --emccoy@nh.ultranet.com // arcangel@io.com In Nomine Line Editor GURPS, Roleplayers, In Nomine stuff; Art: http://www.io.com/~arcangel/ ------------------------------ End of in_nomine-digest V1 #1262 ******************************** The material here is (C) 1999 Steve Jackson Games, Incorporated.
