However, IIRC there's a limit of one Role per vessel (for obvious reasons). >Also, If you want the Fighting skill, do you have to purchase it for both >Corporeal and Celestial??? Every weapon skill has to have a "specialty", as it were. (Large Weapon (Sword) and Large Weapon (Frankish Battleaxe) don't let you do the same things. :) - -EDG ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 1 Aug 1999 17:25:15 -0700 (PDT) From: chris dickson Subject: IN> I.N. Questions Dear Sir, I have a few I.N. questions for you. 1: If a celestial automatically jumps back to his heart (give or take a few hours) after his vessel is destroyed, is it therefore impossible to destroy a celestial after engaging it in combat in the corporeal realm. ie. then shift to the celestial plane and then kick his ass before he returns to his heart. 2: After a celestial has its vessel destroyed how does he gain a new one in order to return to the corporeal realm. Does he automatically get a new one after trauma, does he have to buy one with experience points or petition a superior to be granted a new one. 3:What happens if a Kyriotate's host's consciousness is destroyed in the marches during a divine takeover. Thank you for your time. Yours sincerely, Chris Dixon _____________________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? Essentially. Depending on how you run your game, vessels may be more or less valuable; a celestial might rather go celestial to save a vessel than die corporeally and go to Trauma. Also, you may wish to rule that celestials can be damaged celestially while they're in Trauma; I don't remember what canon is on that point. >2: After a celestial has its vessel destroyed how does he gain a new >one in order to return to the corporeal realm. Generally speaking, you'll have to petition your Superior for a new vessel if you don't have any more. (The exception to this is when you're in Limbo.) Whether or not you're charged XP for this is up to the GM. >3:What happens if a Kyriotate's host's consciousness is destroyed in >the marches during a divine takeover. IIRC, the body goes catatonic when the Kyrio leaves. (Depending on the GM, this may or may not count as leaving the host in worse condition.) - -EDG ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 1 Aug 1999 20:39:15 -0400 From: Douglas Muir Subject: IN> The Sunrise Story and the Angel of the Dawn Many thanks to everyone who said something nice about Eos and his story. A couple of people wanted to know if they could make off with him. Yes, certainly, provided only that 1) You tell me about it, and 2) You add a line at the bottom saying "(c) Douglas Muir 1999, douglas.muir@yale.edu". The story and the character can be separated or kept together, as you please. Yes, though the more Roles you have, the lower-level they will be. Having more than one Role per vessel is tricky, though possible. See the Liber Servitorum for more detail. >Also, If you want the Fighting skill, do you have to purchase it for both >Corporeal and Celestial??? Correct -- if you vessel-kill someone, you almost certainly cannot engage him in celestial combat. (Indeed, someone who has thoroughly lost a fight, or is losing in celestial combat, may choose to return to a badly-wounded vessel so that all you can do is put him in Trauma. Or he may just ascend to his Heart. >2: After a celestial has its vessel destroyed how does he gain a new >one in order to return to the corporeal realm. He asks his Superior for one, nicely. (The Game Master's Guide, in playtest, has suggestions on how to deal with this situation, IIRC. It boils down to "How nice does the GM want to be, taking into account how the character lost the vessel in the first place?") >3:What happens if a Kyriotate's host's consciousness is destroyed in >the marches during a divine takeover. The host becomes a vegatable or dies and the Kyrio goes dissonant, most likely. - --emccoy@nh.ultranet.com // arcangel@io.com In Nomine Line Editor GURPS, Roleplayers, In Nomine stuff; Art: http://www.io.com/~arcangel/ ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 2 Aug 1999 17:40:32 -0400 From: Adam Canning Subject: IN> God as an Ethereal spirit > Date: Sat, 31 Jul 1999 20:03:37 -0400 > From: David Edelstein > > While it is CDaU whether or not God is really an ethereal, it is > established (in the GMG) that certain religious beliefs do NOT spawn > ethereal spirits.
