I was waiting for the scary part...I waited all the way until the credits rolled. My wife and the two friends who went with us were likewise decidedly unscared (and my wife usually jumps and clings to me during scary movies). Definitely overhyped. I thought it was slightly interesting, my friends thought it was a total waste of time and money. My wife (who couldn't understand all the dialogue, though she certainly got lots of practice listening to multiple inflections of the F-word in American slang) thought it was stupid. Everyone I know either found the Blair Witch Project creeped them out totally, or it went right past them. I suspect this movie simply punches certain psychological buttons, and you either have those buttons or you don't. Now, as with many other bad movies, this one can be redeemed by looking at it in In Nomine terms. Since this might be considered a slight spoiler, I offer my explanation of the Blair Witch Project following a spoiler space below: | | | | | | | | | | | Habbalite of Nightmares.
