That gives a nod to the symbolic requirements. Thus, if an angel is now several timezones away and is too early or late for a plausible sunrise regeneration, they might regenerate the first time they walk into a room and flip on the light. For a demon, flip off the light. Humans regenerate every 24 hours regardless of lighting conditions. If they stay in a new timezone for a few days, the time of regen slowly drifts over to match the new timezone. In fact, given that humans are native to the Corporeal plane, Essence regen is probably tied to their circadian rhythms, which celestials don't have. So if hackers regain Essence at midnight, does that make them Ethereals? - -- +----------------------------------------------------------------+ | Jason F. I am going to have to kill about 1000 lines of code to create about 1000 new ones because of the way Visual Basic works. I will be happy to say that the character generator is working fine apart from that and that it will be very easy and straight forward to use :) I wanted to mention that I will not be FOR NOW including the minor Choirs/Bands (except for the Bright Lilims at the request of someone I know) but I will be do so probably in a later version. Maybe the only thing that can stop God is something >from outside His creation, > That's a good idea -- that something untouched by the hand of God can defeat him. No doubt the true nature of this thing couldn't really be perceived and it would appear as metaphoric weapon -- a javelin, sword or discus, for instance. Here's what I had in mind: Although the Word of Monotheism generates vast amounts of Essence, the many different interpretations of God creates a form of dissonance in any ethereal that holds it. Thus unlike any other Word, the Word of Monotheism requires an ongoing effort to maintain a hold on it. God cannot afford to lose his concentration. At the same time, the Essence gathered by the Word must be channeled through the Marches as a tangible flow before it reaches God. >or perhaps Kaichaman is leading his >worshippers to their (and his) doom in a mad scheme. I didn't think of the idea of making the characters worshippers of Kaichman...but that is a good idea. From what I've read so far all the ethereals are supposed to be at least a little mad...so this would be a likely development. Perhaps he's really leading them on a suicide attack against the Tsayadim or a rival. Thanks to Earl Wajenberg for recommending novels on Aborigine culture written by Patricia Wrightson. I'll have to see if I can find them. If the Dreamtime Spirits are like the fae as he suggests (ie. unpredictable, nonhuman and also phantasmal), then I suppose that would make the ethereal I used (Kaichaman) non-typical; possibly a renegade - although 1300 years spent hiding from Blandine and Beleth would make any ethereal a little strange. ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 19 Aug 1999 18:58:13 -0400 From: David Edelstein Subject: IN> Geases vs. Remnants and Undead >I thought undead had souls -- but their souls were bound into their bodies, so that when the body was destroyed, so was the soul.< Ah, yes, I think you're right about that. Except Zombis. Zombis have no Celestial Forces and no souls. So, you can't Geas-hook a Zombi. - -David ------------------------------ End of in_nomine-digest V1 #1310 ******************************** The material here is (C) 1999 Steve Jackson Games, Incorporated.
