There *was* a plague of frogs on Egypt, in Exodus 8:2. It was the second plague. Locusts were the eighth plague. There also appeared frog demons in Revelation 16:13. My twins were born at 27, and one didn't make it. Fortunately, 31 weeks is a world better than 27, as far as premies go. I think this is one place where I don't care what people think, and I'll be praying for them. Here's the news bulletin from the SJGames Daily Illuminator, in case you haven't read it yet: - --- February 18, 2000: Archangel Gives Birth To Reliever Our In Nomine line editor, Elizabeth "Archangel Beth" McCoy, has just given birth to Iolanthe Lynn Casey McCoy. Mother and daughter are doing well -- as, apparently, is Beth's husband and co-author of GURPS IOU, Walter Milliken. Iolanthe is 2 months premature, weighs 2 lbs. 15 ounces, but is fine. We'll bring you the Illuminated Site of the Week tomorrow. It's a good one. But this news wouldn't wait. We may very well inflict some baby photos on you before long. -- Steve Jackson - --- Earl ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 18 Feb 2000 11:40:05 -0500 From: Whistling in the Dark Subject: Re: IN> Congrats Beth and Walter! I've just gotten off the phone with the Archangel, who is doing *very* well. The procedure was medically based, not a premature labor, and Iolanthe is doing *very* well indeed (including breathing on her own already, which for a preme is *darn* good). Beth is very cheerful and thinking well of all of us. On Iolanthe and Choir, despite SJ's pronouncement of her as a Reliever (and she's apparently the right size for one, so we may have to photomanip her forthcoming pictures to add butterfly wings), the Djinn Princess of Nitpicking has declared her Iolanthe, Impudite Princess of Cute. She's already shown resonance in both draining and charming, and I hear she's working on Songs. In lieu of flowers (and this comes too late for some of us ), she suggests we buy IN books in Iolanthe's name, so we can more quickly sell out the line, keep Momma secure in employment, and get to second edition all the faster. Walter is also doing well, and is currently in Dover attending to cats while rushing as fast as he can to return to the hospital before today's projected blizzard. Both are very happy, more than a little startled, and very glad they had a girl since they hadn't yet come up with a boy's name. And, even as none of us can agree on pronunciations of the other Demon Princes (Beth and I both have about nine pronunciations for 'Alaemon,' and I've finally declared that his proper pronunciation is a secret), apparently both Walter and Beth have their own proper pronunciation for Iolanthe, which means 'violet' and comes from a Gilbert and Sullivan operetta. They have compromised on Io-chan. This works, as right now the child has big eyes and a small mouth. - -- Eric Alfred Burns - Habbalite of Belaboring the Point ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 18 Feb 2000 14:59:10 -0600 From: graveyard@cstone.net (Graveyard Greg) Subject: Re: IN> Congrats Beth and Walter! >This >works, as right now the child has big eyes and a small mouth.
