As a general rule, no. But it *was* something I was very concerned about when I put this campaign together. This group just came out of a very high-power save-the-universe Cyberpunk game, and the switch in tone to brand-spanking-new baby angels was pretty drastic. When you look at the major differences between an "average" human and an "average" angel, I was concerned that the power differences would leave me with angelic X-men. And while I adore the X-men, that wasn't what I had in mind. > > Besides. I have a player who rolls them up enough that I'm > > considering filching his dice. > > You could always roll for him. The above was a case of looking in the wrong section in a hurry - I was looking at the song description, not at the performance section. Once I learn the books better, I'll have better luck with these. >And the > Song of Entropy gives an example of the difference between aging and > growing, but I used a tree example, not a bomb. I kept thinking that a younger timing device would, of necessity, move back in time to a point *when* it was younger, and therefore had counted off less time. Silly me - I've got the concept now. Perhaps the clarification should be that the Song doesn't truly reverse or accelerate time in any way, just changes the condition of the subject in a way that would be consistent with it being "newer" or "older". (I.e., a lower or higher entropy state.) I think this is what the example was trying to show, but I don't recall if there is explicit wording to this effect. If a player wanted to affect a bomb with this Song, the most effective use would probably be to *age* the bomb (which would tend to make the timer or explosive unreliable through corrosion and other slow chemical changes). Of course there's a risk that the desired effect wouldn't occur -- corroding the firing mechanism might simply set it off. - ---Walter ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 8 Mar 2000 10:06:44 -0700 (MST) From: GROTH TIMOTHY PAUL Subject: Re: IN>Furby On Wed, 8 Mar 2000, Erich Arendall wrote: > >After reading Superiors 2, a thought hit me.
