Trailer 1 - The Agony and the Ecstasy Yah, I liked this too. ...actually, on one memorable occasion, my PCs goofed up bigtime and got stuck with temporary Vessels and an ugly cleanup job (let's put it this way: they were temporarily assigned under a Mercurian of Jordi... and it went rapidly downhill from there). Apropos of which, it occurs to me that sticking PCs in a high school might be a fun bit of comic relief. Hm, maybe time to beg a few first-season episode videos from my friend the Buffy fan... - -- For some reason I'm now flashing on Oaths for a HS Malakite. "I will never be late to class." I've updated my webpage. http://www.familyshoebox.com/family/Oops (cue evil laughter here) Now, I stuck a lot of the stuff inflicted here by me over the last few weeks, but there are two new items available: Eve, Archangel of Women (I really should check to see whether Eric has put his up yet, but I didn't want his stuff to take over my brain and fill me with crippling self-doubt); and, for the Oops fan(s) out there (apparently, there's at least one person actually using parts of it for his campaign. Wahoo!), a little explanation what was happening. It's probably glaringly obvious, anyway. :) Oh, yeah, my Malakite Novalis has been shifted out of Oops. I might put her back if I can think up a better backstory. But, don't despair! I still have her Tsadayim floating around, and the mental picture I have of them is just too good to leave alone. Hope you all enjoy (and feel free to say so if you don't). I've got a couple of other things (silly, silly Superiors) that'll be up in a week or two. (/cue evil laughter) Moe P.S. Even if it's on the page, it's still INC-friendly, as I need a better web site so badly I could weep, anyway. I'm even thinking of spending actual money to get one... :) __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? Get Yahoo! The Eve Suite is finished, and may be found at the following URLs. Eve's Creation and History, from one Chronicler's point of view, is found at: Eve, the Archangel of Women's writeup (and Superior Opinions) are at: Even as Lilith has her Lilim, so Eve has *her* children, the Hawwah: And even as Lilim can Redeem and become Bright, so Hawwah can Fall....: Why Hawwah? HawwAh (as best as can be rendered in this language, according to my one piddling source) is the Hebrew name for Eve. It seemed to fit. So, read mine, read Morgan's, and fer God's sake enjoy. - -- Eric Alfred Burns - Habbalite of Belaboring the Point ------------------------------ Date: Sat, 22 Jul 2000 23:22:06 -0400 From: Whistling in the Dark Subject: Re: IN> Iron Chef In Nomine: Eve - The Archangel of Women At 11:13 PM -0400 7/22/00, Whistling in the Dark wrote: >As Morgan has posted, so shall I. Oh, and all these (and, for that matter, essentially everything on my In Nomine web site) are up for the INC if the INC folks want to use them, which seems unlikely. - -- Eric Alfred Burns - Habbalite of Belaboring the Point ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 23 Jul 2000 09:26:53 EDT From: Daedalus3D@aol.com Subject: IN> Non-Linear Gaming In a message dated 7/20/00 5:09:14 PM Eastern Daylight Time, owner-in_nomine-digest@lists.io.com writes: << The other thing I'd like to see, and don't, generally, is non-linear plotting. >> This is a concept that I've been playing with for a long time. I''ve never really had the confidence to pull off a senario that was completely non-linear, but sections of my campigns have dealt with this concept. The great thing is that there are so many weird imaginitive things you can do that are only based on how you structure the story. Example 1: The Predestination/Fate Approach. Begin the senario with, "As you watch the demon cackle maniacally while ripping the arm off your vessel, you think back and wonder how you ever got into this mess in the first place." Okay, not worded beautifully, but this is an example. From that point, you'd start back at the beginning, with the players knowing that eventually they're going to meet a powerful demon that will rip arms off vessels. To add more flavor, you can even jump back and forth from the present to the future. Letting them fight a couple of cambat rounds with the demon before jumping back in time again. That way, the future threat is always there in their minds. Anyway, I have to go now. I'm late for my game. But I definately think this is something worth talk about. Later. But the reaction of the group's Bright Lilim was priceless -- she'd been loaned to Haagenti for a while -- when he showed up on a doorstep she was guarding, looking for redemption. There's no weight restriction mentioned in the book, only a distance restriction of (Corporeal Forces) yards. Yes, it says "pseudo-magnetic." I can believe this would not work on computers, etc.; I just wanted it clarified, in case I was missing an opportunity. Why does he want to corrupt? To raise himself up, or to bring others down? Because he considers it the "natural state", or because he knows he is foul and cannot tolerate others being clean? (b) Who are his prime targets? Is he more interested in fully securing those who are already mildly corrupt, or does he take more pleasure/interest in fouling those who are as yet untouched/clean? (c) Does he have any Master Plans (and if not, why not?) and who will they involve? Is he allying with other Princes in a mutual powerplay, or is he trying to "poach" aspects of their Words out from under them?
