The Angel of Truth: As the Angel of Truth, Triuwida automatically suceeds at using his Resonance against any target, ignoring any and all blocks. He always chooses the CD. Triuwida can apply his Resonance to as many people at once as his Celestial Forces, analysing anything they say directly to him. This, like Honorare's can foil a Superior unless they are concentrating on blocking him out. Choir Angel: Triuwida is connected to ALL Seraphim in the Symphony. At any time with a Perception roll he can consult the Cherubim CD table with regard to any Seraph. Once connected to him he can sense how comitted that Seraph is to the Truth at that point in time. If a Seraph is about to lie, either by action or by omission Triuwida will know about it immediately. True Lies: This Attunement was unknown to Triuwida until he unconsciously used it against a Balseraph. With the expenditure of 5 Essence and a Will roll, Triuwida can make any lie, True. He stretches out into the Symphony and rearranges the strands that are being falsly plucked into a configuration of Truth. If a man lies about where he was last night to his wife, Triuwida can make it so he was where he said he was. If an employee lies about why he was late to work, Triuwida makes his excuse come True. The first application was used by Triuwida against a Balseraph that used his Resonance to try and make Triuwida believe that the Balseraph was actually Michael. Needless to say, when Michael was yanked out of Heaven into the Balseraph's vessel the Balseraph did not survive. Michael looked at Triuwida, nodded and calmy ascended. Triuwida has only ever used this Attunement once so far. Distinctions: Choir Angel Discord/Dissonance: NONE. History. Triuwida was the second of the Choir Angels to phase into existance. The Truth is, as Triuwida will tell you, is that he was actually alive long before he was an Angel. He existed as pure Truth in the Higher Heavens, closer to God than any other being. Of course, he could be telling you a Truth that he MADE true using True Lies.... no one knows, but it comes from a Seraph, so it must be True. The Seraph never speaks a word that he doesn't mean. There is never a trace of inconsistancy or ambiguity in his voice. Everything he says is True, and if it isn't or it is not going to help enlighten people... he doesn't say it. This means that he is pretty much always silent. It surprises people to know that he speaks almost every Romantic and Germanic language. He uses his Role as Trish Widdan to expose the lies of the world. He is very good, or is that She is very good. Every interview is pointed and factual and every column she has ever written has been God's honest Truth. Triuwida is the unofficial leader of the Choir Angels. He was never appointed, nor has he ever ordered another Choir Angel to do anything. According to Heaven, he just is. It could be the fact the two Seraphim in Heaven occupy two very high Administration roles and it just makes sense to have the Seraph of Truth as the leader. The Truth is of course, that the Choir Angels are not a group. No one ever asks Triuwida if he is the leader, they all assume and Triuwida keeps silent. If only someone would ask. Dominic always goes slient when Triuwida's name is mentioned and never tolerates any sort of slander against his name. Almost as though he is frightened of him. He knows that Triuwida can make anything come True and he is *very* apprehensive about pissing him off. Heart of Darkness The angels are summoned to their Archangels cathedral where Michael is waiting with Laurence and David in what is quite likely a meeting a suitable import. The three Archangels are quite simple in the fact they want a Outcast destroyed with no questions asked. Why all three are present they do not go into though the mission facts are quite simple as to why they are there perhaps.... The Outcast is located in Hell. The Outcast in question is one of the Dark Malakim which are so often denied in existance by the Heavengly Host and this one tormented so greatly by his despair, nightmare, and similar disturbing discord decided to descend to Hell where he could do his last measurable good or achieve some sort of peace of mind in the pit. This story should be at an end but the Outcast in question is no ordinary being but one of the orginal Malakim that was transformed during the Fall and a close friend to all three of the Malakim known for his great honor and power. As much as the destruction of the being they want to know....why? Armed with cloaks of darkness woven by Nisroc's servitors for his spying missions they will be invisible as long as they affect nothing in Hell. They are presented with the completely black heart of Kurotz and a cherub who was attuned to him but has suffered such amazing discord only the attentions of the Archangels has kept him from falling to serve as their guide. The odd fact is to any who is paying attention.... Kurotz is not dead and he's a Malakim in the heart of Hell. The Dark Malakim twisted beyond recognition with madnesses that are horrofic indeed is still relatively tactically sane and has begun in Stygia, Gehenna, Hades...it matters not where the Referee wishes to put him. The slow recruition of the damned into an army to make for a revolt against Hell and it's demonic masters. Stockpiling their weapons and supplies Kurotz himself keeps out of Prince's sights by meditating in the lower hells....ultimately where the PCs must find him. The causal madness and brutality of Hell to PCs of course should be played up and the problem that Kurotz might well be waging a full scale war against the Princes of Hell and....they don't even notice.....which is a definate sobering thought for those among the Heavengly Host who believe they are acomplishing great strides in God's will by waging the war against individual servitors. In truth Hell causes more damage to more demons in a single day than most of the concentrated efforts of Laurence and the Host perhaps in a year....Heaven is merely their united cause and the thing that reminds them that their lives are filthy, disgusting, and drives them to ever greater lashings out against the righteous. Kurotz is of course also being protected by a Prince...Kobal or Kronos if you want to be traditional. The great irony and dark humor in a Malakim losing his honor and finding himself more at home among the damned than the righteous and the idea that Kurotz is somehow fufilling his Fate (Malakim have to have fates most Fate servitors believe). Baal is a less traditional sort as he might respect on some level Kurotz's chosen mission even as he funnels him weapons to ever greater the conflict (Baal has already willingly turned his land into a warzone...why should he care)? Another choice is possibly Lucifer himself who finds Kurotz's company in the lower hells....refreshing and aids him for reason's whatever the reason. Perhaps all of them are doing it at once. It really doesn't matter. Kurotz will not resist the PCs if they track him down and indeed will ask them for destruction should they still at this point desire to fufill the three Archangel's purpose. He will merely scream and try and drive his Holy Sword into his heart as it's done, hoping desperately to destroy it as he's soul-killed. Kurotz believes the War is futile and while Hell may believe they will ever win they're lives will be snuffed out like kindling no matter how much they strive....sheer numbers will wear out every individual even Lucifer eventually. Heaven will fail equally because the brightest candles burn quickest, a Fufur will never equal a Raphael but it only takes one upstart Prince to kill an Archangel whose lived for billions of years and they're experience is alot harder to replace. Great rewards await those who return for their "heroics" such as attunements, distinctions, perhaps even a word for going to Hell and comming back for a mission for three War angels. - -Charlemagne ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 16 Feb 2001 00:13:02 +1300 From: "Alex Liddell" Subject: Re: IN> The Choir Words: Triuwida >>True Lies: > Aside from the obscenely dangerous potential of this thing, >>I >find it hard to believe that a mere angel could have such power. >We're talking about the ability to rewrite the symphony wholesale. >Granted, the sole known possessor of this attunement seems to have >good judgement in its exercise, but the very existence of such a >power outside of God itself just doesn't sit right with me. The fact of the matter is that it was granted by God for a purpose Triuwida doesn't know. The Choir Angels are not as Yves is nor are they fragments of God. They were created by God for a purpose not defined by Heaven. Sure the Attunement is obscenely powerful.... but so is the Song of Correspondance in the hands of someone who wants to do some harm. He only uses is reflexivly and so far in his entire existance it has been only once. For you to understand the Choir Angels existance you have to be willing to think outside of the normal parameters for an Angel. Even a Wordbound and to some extent, an Archangel. >>Triuwida was the second of the Choir Angels to phase into existance. >>The Truth is, as Triuwida will tell you, is that he was actually >>alive long before he was an Angel. If you could define ineffible..... I was going to add the following but left it up to the judgement and imaginations of the List members. "If an Angel was ever going to Fall because of something they didn't understand or neccessarily want. It would be Triuwida. If it ever came to that, Triuwida would cease to exist and the Father of all Lies would stand in his place, laughing. You see, Triuwida was alive long before he was created an Angel. But he was alive in a different form. If you were to see him today, you would swear that his eyes shone with the eternal Light of Heaven. Triuwida embodies the last bit of Lucifer he left behind. His Truth." That may explain a little, I could have been mistaken to leave it out. That little paragraph should add a whole new spin to Triuwida, and make him probably one of the most analysed Angels in Heaven. If it ever got out. Almost certainly not. >And if they were so powerful did Uriel effectively thus slay like a hundred >or more Demon Princes in his Crusade? Probably not. Some likely only counted as "Big Word-bound," while others were "Little Word-bound." The big ones, like Zeus... Mobs, trickery, and personal combat, probably. Uriel was a _mean_ SOB. With the expenditure of 5 Essence and a Will Personally, I would change this to "By spending X Essence and making a Will roll, Triuwida can force someone to speak in only complete, whole truths for CD minutes." That avoids the semi-Balseraphic forcing of will upon the Symphony and is a wonderful way to make the Liars Dissonant. - -- Casca "...I saw the Lord seated on a throne, high and exalted, and the train of His robe filled the temple. Of course not. Properly managing resources -- especially Human resources -- is an objective good (at least in Heaven's eyes). ===== Michael Walton, #9805-068 "You have walked through the halls of power and have somehow managed to remain untouched. That's what God wanted too, surely: why would She give the Watchers the ability to procreate with humanity if they weren't meant to exercise it? Apparently, the Malakim disagreed. Worse, they were able to do something concrete with their disagreement. Rachel remembers that day quite well, the day when the massed forces of Heaven turned their backs on the Grigori and condemned them for loving well, if not wisely. Eli tried to stop it from happening, of course: he went as far as anyone could without stepping over the line into outright rebellion. In fact, her old Superior actually went a few steps over that line. If it wasn't for Dominic's timely intercession, there might have been one more Archangel going Outcast that day. Rachel doesn't blame Eli for what happened next. What happened next came perilously close to being a slaughter. Someone had tipped off Hell that this was going to happen, and the demons came out to play. The next few years were nightmarish: too many Watchers were trapped, tortured, played with... and what happened to their families was simply obscene. And, of course, above it all you could see the black wings as those sanctimonious emotional cripples looked upon their handiwork, and found it good. But the battle wasn't one-sided: oh, no. The Grigori have always understood the virt... the _benefits_ of togetherness, and they were able to do a little trapping and killing of their own. And, if a few Malakim disappeared now and then, well ... so what? It's a dangerous world out there. Rachel wasn't ever involved in that sort of thing. She just wanted to try to help the humans that she lived among, trying her best to keep true to what she believed in. Eventually, she settled in what would become the Roman Empire, taking on the identity of various members of an extensive Roman clan. She had her children, she had her family, she had her purpose. And then the Malakim took everything away from her again. Those Grigori living in the Roman Empire were always fond of the holiday of Lupercalia: its emphasis on fertility resonated with their own nature and tragedy. Rachel was especially fond of the festival, and made it a point to walk among the crowds and help, anonymously, those in the crowd especially desirous for children. It made them so happy, nine months later - and Rachel would smile when she saw a baby of the right age, and wonder whether she was the facilitator of this most priceless of gifts. Still, when the Christian Church finally managed to suppress the holiday, Rachel was disappointed, but didn't see it as a premonition of disaster. She spent the next thousand years cursing herself for her blindness. You see, certain Servitors of Purity had ferreted out the Grigori presence in Rome, and had bided their time until the natural unrest from the suppression of such a popular holiday could hide their activities. That night, every Grigori in Rome was attacked. Many died: most, even. Rachel survived - but wished she hadn't. For, you see, the Malakim also struck at the Watchers' families. They killed every single mortal member of her kin, down to the smallest baby. They even took the time to sow the ground with salt. After that, Rachel was happy to play the game. Well, not happy, but willing. The blackwings had killed her family, in defiance of even their own hypocritical rules: well, if the rules had been tossed aside, then there was no reason to being a fool. 'Ten for one' became her motto, and by now she's about halfway there. It took forever to discover the actual participants of the attack on her family, and almost as long to soul-kill them all. After that challenge, she branched out to the worst examples of the breed - not that any of them are especially worthwhile, in the Grigori's view. Rachel wants to live to enjoy each drop of her revenge, so she is careful to attack only when she's sure to win - and when she does, it's without mercy. Her deepest regret is that she couldn't be there when Uriel was exiled in his turn. But that's fine: Rachel suspects that the Archangel of Purity can still observe events on the three planes. She’ll be happy to give him an especially good show. Uriel was responsible for the death of her sons: somehow, someday, she’ll be responsible for the death of his. Rachel is probably insane by now through grief and anger, but she still realizes that killing the Archangel of the Sword is beyond her powers - but there must be a way. There must be. It's the only comfort that she can allow herself. She doesn't even associate with her Choir-mates anymore. They always end up trying to dissuade her from her purpose. All she wanted was a child. ===== In Nomine stuff: http://www.stormloader.com/users/moelane/innomine.html Last updated 11/25/00 (this is usually way out of date) __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!?
