I think Christopher would have pushed Gabriel out of the way to get there first. Spankings are one thing, but open wounds....I'm thinking that hanging is too good for Reverend Allen. ------------------------------ Date: Sat, 31 Mar 2001 21:11:26 -0500 From: "Rolland Therrien" Subject: IN> Fleurity vs Jordi Ladies and Gentlmen of the List, I think Fleurity is going to have to be on the lookout for Jordi's agents from now on... Gotta give *some* props for the mortals who give up their only life for the cause. S'color.) Martyr This distinction is granted to any blessed soul who died because of (and in service to) his or her faith. "Granted" may not be the right word... they simply seem to arrive in Heaven so distincted. There are no strong game effects - the soul tends to get nods of respect from those around him; this translates to a +1 reaction bonus from other blessed souls and angels. This distinction is one of the few that a Saint may begin play with (as it obviously cannot be earned *during* play). It costs one character point. - -- Rev. Like, "Fail to assassinate the poltical leader who will save millions". 3) How specific can a Destiny/Fate be? Could a person's Destiny be "Kill Hitler", or would it have to be "Kill a tyrant"? 3a) As a subset of the above, if you can have specific Destiny/Fates, what happens if you fail to perform them? Would you automaticly disband, seeing as how there would then be no possible way for you to fullfill Destiny or Fate? Could this be a reason some souls disband rather than reincarnate? 4) Can a Destiny involve doing something bad? Like the aforementioned "Kill Hitler". Or does it have to be expressed in more acceptable terms, like "Stop Hitler"? 5) Can a Destiny/Fate depend on another Destiny/Fate being fullfilled to be possible? Again, on the "Kill Hitler" riff: what if he had not fallen to his Fate, and thus never become a world tyrant. Or even achieved his Destiny? "Kill Hitler" would then be a much less obviously good thing for the Symphony, and if he achieved his Destiny, would be downright bad. 6) A reincarnation tangent: are souls always reincarnated as the same species? Do humans always return as humans, or could they come back as something else with five Forces? So, those are my questions. __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? I don't see why not, but I wouldn't make it too common... if the person doesn't get Heaven, they automatically get Hell. No leeway. Once in a while, it would probably be okay. > 2) Can someone have a negative Destiny? Like, "Fail to > assassinate the poltical leader who will save > millions". Probably, but that's an EASY one to fulfill... > 3) How specific can a Destiny/Fate be? Could a > person's Destiny be "Kill Hitler", or would it have to > be "Kill a tyrant"? The latter. The GMG goes into it, and D/Fs are never *that* specific. > 3a) As a subset of the above, if you can have specific > Destiny/Fates, what happens if you fail to perform > them? Firstly, you really can't have specific ones (at least, not *that* specific) in canon. But if you want 'em, I can't see why you wouldn't still reincarnate. A person doesn't necessarily get the same Destiny/Fate in their next life, after all... > 4) Can a Destiny involve doing something bad? Like the > aforementioned "Kill Hitler". Hence the lack of specifics... it raises a lot of odd questions. > 6) A reincarnation tangent: are souls always > reincarnated as the same species?
