--------------------GEV List Thingy, Jan 15th.-------------------- From: hyc@hanauma.Jpl.Nasa.Gov (Howard Chu) Subject: Re: OGRE/GEV: is there a FAQ??? Cool, other folks still play this game! Great! I have the original Metagaming releases of Ogre and GEV, as well as Shockwave. Don't remember if I got Battlesuit, certainly never played it. I also picked up The Ogre Book, a collection of Space Gamer articles on the game. Cool stuff. I noticed you're also running an SFB list. I haven't played either of these games in at least 3 years, but I'd like to get in touch with other players and see how things have changed... I've also been working on a GEV description for Xconq. The Xconq sources I have are from May '91, dunno if there's a newer version... -- -- Howard Chu @ Jet Propulsion Laboratory, Pasadena, CA There's a rough border between genius and insanity, but I'm a dual citizen. ___ [I worked up a GEV scenario for Xconq some time ago, the biggest problem is that the computer players are already way too dim to handle the complexity of the game without ranged combat... ...naturaly I cannot divulge the pieces I have crafted without violating Mr Jackson's copywrites, but if I was goning to redo it now, I'd throw out the range effects, use the Hvy Tnk > Msl Tnk > GEV > Hvy Tnk cycle and just give Ogres a bunch of hit points. -HJC] Henry J.
