--------------------GEV List Thingy, Jan 21st-------------------- From: mcclure@nebula.ssd.lmsc.lockheed.com Subject: old ogre info Henry, I am also one of those unfortunates who only get your OGRE/GEV postings through the mail or REC.GAMES.BOARD (second handed). For some reason we can't tap into rec.games.btech. If you have anything interesting from Steve Jackson's BBS, I would appreciate including the infamous Flying Ogre (I think I remember seeing that somewhere before). Anyway thanks for all the info so far. And I know the frustration of some of those who can't get the miniatures. There are times when my stores who do carry them are out of the ones I want. Kent ___ [Read My Lips: r.g.btech was a joke, really! Wasn't the whole flying Ogre thing originally printed in Space Gamer #11? (Just ask Stevie for a back issue... ;-) It looks like the latest segment of "Waterloo" will be delayed, such is life. A while back I posted my triangle of armor units without explanation: A GEV gets a first strike on a Heavy, but its so feeble that the Heavy gets to kill it. A Heavy gives up the first attack to a missile tank and the 1-1 is enough of an edge for the missile tank to win. And lastly the missile tank gets hung up on terrain, so the GEV can claim a kill. I still visualize the Lt GEV as "The Apache of the 21st Century", and want to put the missile pods on them, rather than the infantry. (Cobb formula says that Lt GEV slowed down to M3/2 (by the drag factor of the weapons pods?) for a one-shot 3/4 attack is a 4 point unit, but don't trust it.) -HJC] Henry J.
