And we aren't talking about the Oto Melara 76/62 (3") Super-Rapido, which fires 120 rounds a minute. OTOH, the Oto Melara 76/62 (3") Compact (aka Mk. 75 gun) which is installed on the O.H. Perry frigates only fires 60 rounds a minute (yes, they mounted an Italian gun on a US frigate. Even the japanese produce it on license). Also Oto Melara produces a 5" mount which fires 45 rounds a minute, whilst the US Mk 45 mount fires only 20 rds a minute. Moreover the Mk 45 only has in the mount 20 rounds whilst the Oto Melara has 66 rounds. Bye /\ Emilio Desalvo /<>\ mc4187@mclink.it /____\ FNORD P.S. if you want to die real quick in a helicopter, you can approach an Italian armoured column. Oto Melara has mounted a modified Super Rapido on a tank, and sold it to EI. Three rounds and the helo goes down. It can also switch to AT rounds. ___ [Argh! I'm kinda surprised at the lack of response to the new formula. -HJC] Henry J. Cobb hcobb@fly2.berkeley.edu, SFB Tyrant-for-life A "Bjorn again" programmer.
