--------------------GEV List Thingy, August 5th-------------------- From: Mark C H Donelan Subject: Rules To: hcobb@fly2.berkeley.edu (Henry J. Cobb) Hello GEV/Ogre people A few questions. Does anyone know when SJG is going to come out with rules for the new units mentioned for the miniatures game. (i.e. the Chinese psuedo-ogres) Also I remember a discussion of the relative value of units based on thier attack strength, defense and movement with the terrain of the original gev map factored in. Is there a more general way to do this? I play the mins game more than the original and the maps I use for the mins tend to be more open than the GEV map. Sincerely Mark Donelan ___ [Steve's got a Ogre-minis suplement scheduled for sometime this fall, which will have those units, and maybe ships (naval units) too. As noted in the "Ogre Squash" article, free movement gives a hearty advantage to GEVs (as they can cluster for an attack and then get away before reprisals can be launched). But why not flip that around? "The entire living room is deep, dark woods except for this twisty old dirt road. Captain Hood, you will take your force of Hovers (the Red Riders) down that path and off to the dining room. A company of enemy infantry (the Big Bad Wolves) are rumored to be in the area." -HJC] Henry J.
