--------------------GEV List Thingy, Jan 24th-------------------- From: Kerry Harrison Subject: Re: GEV List Thingy, Jan 22nd. To: "Henry J. Cobb" Henry, If the archives don't show up somewhere accessable via anonymous ftp, let me know and I'll stick a copy of them in /pub/usr/kerry/Ogre on io.com which is accessable via anonymous ftp. Emilio & Henry, The online version will only be available to members of Illuminati Online per the agreement we have with SJG. The pbem version will be accessable to anyone with an internet email address. Both versions will use the same viewer (client) software, the server for both games will be located on io.com and will run 24 hrs a day (provided IO is up the whole time ). The initial viewer software will be available in both MS-DOS (VGA graphics) and MS-Windows. An X-Windows version should be available shortly after. A Macintosh version is on the list of things todo, but we haven't found a programmer for it yet. No other versions are planned at the moment, but we are open to suggestions for other platforms. The objective of both versions is to closely as possible duplicate the Ogre Miniatures tabletop game, the online version should get pretty close to this, the pbem will be a bit different as there will be some major changes in turn sequences. Both versions will have several senarios available as well as allow players to design customer senarios. Also we will be doing an operational level Ogre game based on the World Conquest PBM rules from Prime Time Simulations. Basically you get to play the entire military of a Factory State. Kerry Harrison Xanadu Simulations ___ [Barnes simply hasn't moved them from incomming yet, I'll give him a bit longer. I've included the list from 92 & 93 plus some random articles of mine and some from rec.games.board, but not the stuff I'd posted to SJG's BBS (Which I expect to show up in a lump sum at some point). Will you allow Ogre Construction? (I really do need to rewrite my formulas for this, remind me sometime) Are you going to have both dial-up and internet access? If the later will you use Winsock or what? -HJC] Henry J. Cobb hcobb@fly2.berkeley.edu, SFB Tyrant-for-life Novak: "When we return, my partner and I will have the big question for President Clinton."
