============ OGRE/GEV list, December 1st (Last: November 28th) ============= ===== SUPER FENCER Cybertank From: "David Paulowich" ===== Make Ogre History! From: sj@io.com (Steve Jackson) ===== Archaic units From: sj@io.com (Steve Jackson) ------------------------------ From: "David Paulowich" Subject: SUPER FENCER Cybertank The PANEUROPEAN forces managed to copy the engine and treads from the COMBINE Mark V OGRE, and decided to manufacture an even larger version of the Fencer. This Super Fencer had five (5) Missile Racks, thirty (30) Missiles, four (4) Secondary Batteries, and six (6) AP. Its first combat mission made it a legend. Two Mark IV OGREs were advancing at full speed and ran into a barrage of five missiles - which took out one main and one secondary battery. The Super Fencer went on to destroy every COMBINE battery and force its opponents to expend twenty missiles. The Mark IV OGREs made a logical decision to return to base, saving their ten remaining missiles for any hostile GEVs they might encounter on the way. The Super Fencer, armed with six AP guns, held its position until the relief force arrived. Later analysis showed that two Mark IVs could reasonably expect to survive such an attack with the six missile racks and one secondary intact. Under these circumstances, an overrun attack would be a success. Treat the Super Fencer as a Mark V for movement and ramming. The cost is 180 victory points (including its 60 tread units). The total defense strength of this unit is less than that of the Mark V (also true if you modify the defense values according to the formula posted Feb. 07, 1996). Were this a simulation, I'd feel compelled to make it some godawful penalty and let them try.
