[You can still purchase the combined game, I think a reprinting was scheduled to go out at the same time as all those other microgames. (Now the only stuff from Mr Jackson that you can't get, is the stuff he himself owns ;-) -HJC] Err, what does this mean? What reprinting? What other microgames? The combined OGRE/GEV is available in a small boxed set from us, has been for years. Steve Jackson - yes, of SJ Games - yes, we won the Secret Service case Learn Web or die - http://www.io.com/sjgames/ - dinosaurs, Lego, Kahlua! The heck with PGP keys; finger for Geek Code. Fnord. ----- [When I visited the local gameshop lately, I noticed that the OGRE/GEV set was in a slightly different box, and that that other guy had rereleased all of the Metagaming titles. Maybe you could take advantage of the situation by putting out a reprint book on "The best Metagaming articles from the Space Gamer.", or something. -HJC] ------------------------------ From: peletier@grolen.com To: hcobb@slip.net Subject: Ogre overrun by LGEVs Grendel@cdsnet.net has brought up the point of mass overruns of the Ogre by Light GEV's. In the early 1980's, there was the theory put forth of re-introducing the P-51 fighter plane with air to air missile that were very advanced (fire and forget). The human factor was the pilot in a relatively low cost platform (the Mustang P-51, new and improved). I would suggest that we can expect a whole slew of kamakazi style of weapons in the future. The cost would be a fraction of an Ogre. just a few thoughts... ps: The latest E Mail GEV game I am GM'ing is basic RAID between Grendel and sanddllr@erols.com. We are starting the first PanEuropean defensive moves now to the Combine onslaught in the SouthEastern Sector. peletier@busstop.com ------------------------------ From: Don Roberts To: "Henry J. Cobb" Subject: OGRE Solitaire Rules Does anyone have a set of solitaire rules for OGRE and/or GEV that they can/are willing to post here? Don Roberts droberts@cs.uiuc.edu ----- [The best I saw, was back a ways in the Space Gamer, you rolled dice to see which way the OGRE moved. (It was only slightly more intelligent than the computer game. ;-) -HJC] Henry J. Cobb hcobb@io.com http://www.io.com/~hcobb All OGRE-related items Copyright (c) 1996, by Steve Jackson Games.
