Naaah. Somebody cleaned out a warehouse and found some Microgames. Nothing has been reprinted. I went out on a limb to get them to run Ogre/GEV as it is an old game. Its one of my all-time favorites (along with Up Front and Cosmic Encounter). I hope that we can get enough interest for a good tourney. I'll report the results back to the list. Other events at Gaming Conspiracy '96: Boardgaming: 18XX, Civilization, Europe At War, Eurorails, Flat Top, Hacker, Nuclear War, Space Hulk, Titan Roleplaying: AD&D, Call Of Cthulhu, GURPS: Space, Mage, Mutant Chronicles, Necroscope, Card gaming: Great Dalmuti, Legend of the Five Rings, MtG: Ice Age Sealed Deck, MtG: 20 Point System, MtG: Coke & a Fireball, MtG: Iron Man, Rage Minatures: BattleTech, DBA, Johnny Reb, Napoleonics (25mm), Warhammer 40K For full details, schedule of events, and event synopses, check out our web page at: http://www.nmol.com/marms/gc96_pub.htm Or if you don't have WWW access, you can send me an request for info via e-mail, and I'll get it right out to you. Mike Arms marms@nmol.com ----- [Shucks, that would've been perfect for my Dieppe scenario. Of course It'll take some NGFS and that requires Killing Zone for the ship rules. -HJC] ------------------------------ From: peletier@grolen.com To: hcobb@slip.net Subject: Rules interpretation There are currently three rule interpretations that have come up. 1. Is the main river bridge at hex 2013 automatically destroyed if fired upon from a hex that the bridge is in ie: 2013, 2114 and 1913? 2. When a GEV goes from hex 2315 to 2314 when it starts on the road, what is the effect on travel? ie: does the road go to the pond or thru the city to the pond? if the latter, then any effect on movement? 3. Does the GEV have to stop when going from land to the pond and vica versa? IE: does the rule regarding streams apply to the river and pond and the land? These questions have been forwarded to hcobb@slip.net for his and other comments. Lets wait until we hear back on these. My opinion is 1. no 2. no effect 3. no also, could the Combine commander double check his secondary moves. I think you typed in a few hex grids incorrectly. This game is on hold for a bit. mike p. peletier@busstop.com ----- [#1 was covered in a "Game Master" (I think) article in the Space Gamer a long while ago and found to be yes, I think. #2, the effect of terrain in GEV is on entering the hex. So a GEV traveling from 2314 to 2315 gets the "city w/o road" effect, but not if it's going the other way, but see #3. (though it does leave the "road", either way) #3, Ogre Minis page 42 makes clear that any transition between water and land causes the "stop and wait" effect. (streams just being the degenerate case) Technically this doesn't apply to GEV. -HJC] Henry J.
