=============== OGRE/GEV list, June 29th (Last: June 20th) =============== ===== PBEM: Looking for ideas/advice/opponents From: johnson@ccnet.com (Mark E. Johnson) ===== PBEM: After Action Report From: peletier@grolen.com ------------------------------ To: Henry Cobb , From: johnson@ccnet.com (Mark E. Johnson) Subject: PBEM: Looking for ideas/advice/opponents Howdy, I got your list of names from Eric Pass' PBEM registry for Ogre/GEV. Would anyone like to play either game? I've played GEV a bunch, Ogre not quite as much. Never played the minis rules--just the hex map. This would be my first PBEM wargame, though I've done PBEM roleplaying before and know my way around the net. I'm also interested in playing other microgames via email, such as WarpWar or anything else. Thanks. -MJ ------------------------------ From: peletier@grolen.com To: hcobb@slip.net Subject: PBEM: After Action Report The 2nd Email GEV game I have conducted (game mastered) has just concluded. The basic game of RAID started May 29th and ended today, 27 June. The defending PanE's won a decisive victory against the attacking Combine. The Combine destroyed five cities, 4 GEVs, 1 Lt Tank and 6 units of infantry. The PanE killed 9 GEVs with the 10th retreating south. Some basic GM comments. Let me be blunt. PanE: Infantry have legs. Use them to move your units to areas of combat. The are valuable in overrun situations and mopping up disabled units. Use the 2ndary movement of a GEV to make the attacker decide if he wants to attack you or move to the primary targets. Combine: stacking units vulnerable to attack is not advisable. Use the cities as your defense 2x multiplier. Get the PanE mobile units, bypass the infantry if you can. Get those cities, 8 points each. OK, the two players will switch sides and play again. I hope to have more games in the future, let me know if anyone else would like to play and I will put you on the list. If I had another map, I could do two games at once. mike pelletier, Manchester, NH peletier@busstop.com ------------------------------ Henry J.
