It seems that Deep Blue won the chess match by psyching out the human
player, maybe it could be used to select the right songs to play when
Saddam gets cornered.

The team behind Deep Blue have moved on to Data Mining.  That's the
process of automatically building up suppositions from piles of raw data.
It's one of the more practical applications of AI technology.

One of the things I'd like to see in a new Ogre book would be a timeline
that included some real events to spice stuff up, like:

1991: Last use of battleships in war.  First surrender of man to robot.

Everybody else going to see "Starship Troopers"?

I'm considering putting up a page for "21st Century Military links".  I'd
include the online Marine Corps manuals and the Center for Indefensible
Propaganda (for grins).

Just remember when you're deep in Sea Dragon that "Blue on Blue" is too
CAS for comfort.
