If you've got the time, take a look at V_MAP. I'd really like to get an outside opinion on how the two compare in in the ease of use/ ease of game creation capacity. Do I send it to you? I am a C++/Java programmer. I teach programming (Object Oriented Methods, C Programming, C++ Programming) and am in charge of the Development efforts for IATN, inc. I am also a very enthusiastic microgamer. I tell you this, not to seek a new job, though it would be interesting, but to suggest an idea. There is an increadible pool of programmers who are willing to write code for free. A new computer game version of Ogre put out by a loose collection of programmers from around the world could be quite a hit. Furthermore, such a development would cost SJGames very little (someone would have to manage the effort). If it were written in Java specifically to be cross platform, then you would also be open to a much larger audience. By having everyone involved submit thier code to a single individual, releasing that code to a small group of beta testers, you could keep control of the "release" version of the product. You would have a freeware version that would always be a couple of revisons behind and the release version that you could charge for. Just a thought. (I.e. pick mobility system and have size and weight factors. >Units without attack strength would still cost almost as much, etc.) Good points. I don't think adding a % increase would necessarily be a good idea since it would affect things like the SGEV and the plain old HWZ or SHVY to the same degree. Perhaps someday when I have nothing better to do on the bus I'll try plugging away at a design system.
