============ OGREverse list, May 10th (Last: May 5th) ============= ===== The Monster in the moat From: Henry J. Cobb (hcobb@slip.net) ------------------------------ Subject: The Monster in the moat. From: Henry J. Cobb (hcobb@slip.net) The Monster in the moat, a postmodern fairy tale. Setup: The map is 30 inches on a side with a four inch wide river running east to west down the middle. Scatter a few trees or somthing around. There are no bridges or fords. The attacking (Combine) player places a single Mk-VI Ogre anywhere to the north of the river and then the defending (Paneuropean) places a single missile crawler (with one cruise missile) anywhere to the south of the river. The attacking player moves first. Victory Conditions: The attacking player wins an astounding victory if his Ogre crosses to the south side of the river by the end of his tenth turn with at least one thread unit intact. The defending player gets a marginal victory if the attacker's victory condition is avoided and an average victory if the Ogre is blown to bits. Variations: If you don't have the stats for a Mk VI Ogre, then use a Mk V. It doesn't make any difference. Replace the river with the English Channel and retitle the scenario "Deep Impact". Henry J.
