============ OGREverse list, May 14th (Last: May 10th) ============= ===== Ogre Orignal Rules? From: EricDirk ===== Random OGRE stuff From: "Jim Kajpust" ------------------------------ From: EricDirk Subject: Ogre Orignal Rules? Any chance of getting a copy of the Ogre rules? I have both of the Orge and GEV boxes sets from way back when but I can't find the Orge rules. I have the GEV rules but can't remember all the Orge rules, particlalry the Ramming rules instead of the Overrun rules of GEV. My son has start to play and I would like him to see the difference. Is there a web site that has just the rules? ----- [You really have two choices here. Either scrounge around for a copy of the out of print "combined edition" of OGRE/GEV. (Try starting at: http://www.sjgames.com/general/outofprint.html) Or you can go beg Mr Jackson to reprint it. (If you do, could you ask him to reprint GURPS Japan while he's at it?) -HJC] ------------------------------ From: "Jim Kajpust" Subject: Random OGRE stuff I took my Ogre set with me when I went to Saudi. Since I was mostly playing solo, I made up a set of cards I'd use to "randomize" some of the factors in a game. Before each move I'd pick a card and use the results for the move. Some of the cards were: Bad lot of ammo. 2 west most mech units firing range cut by 1 hex. Sabotage! 1 northmost mech unit blows up. Bad Food. 3 southmost infantry lose a turn. Comm jammed. 3 east most units don't receive orders and lose a turn. ECM. 3 north most mech units slide one column left on fire effects. Bad fuel. 4 west most mech units move half movement points. Bad ammo. 2 eastmost units fire no effects. I made copies with different directions as well. It's amazing how much one of these cards can really screw up an attack.
