============ OGREverse list, Feb 20th (Last: Feb 17th) ============= ===== Infantry From: "William Spencer" ===== The Superheavy debate From: Chris Camfield ===== Battlesuit Minis From: Preston Gustine ------------------------------ From: "William Spencer" Subject: Infantry Okay, maybe there aren't any "light powered infantry". On the other hand, the Unit descriptions cover a wide range. After all, NAC GEVs are probably different from PEU GEVs (say, more speed but less armor, better defensive ECM but poorer targeting, et cetera), but not enough to matter in game scale. So an "infantry squad" could represent the "standard" 5-man powered trooper squad, or ten "light powered infantry" with motorcycles, or two BIG powered suits ("Very Light Mecha"), or whatever. ----- [Those "light powered infantry", it's the motorcycles that transform into the light powered suits, t'cha? By any chance, do they fight Invid? -HJC] ------------------------------ From: Chris Camfield Subject: The Superheavy debate Was just reading the Ogre msg boards and had an idea... it might be too powerful, but what would the (estimated) value of a Superheavy be if its attack strength was 4 for EACH gun if the two guns were firing at completely separate targets (i.e. in different hexes, or at least not combined or targeted at the same unit)? It would certainly hurt! CC Chris Camfield - ccamfield@cyberus.ca Big Rude Jake Fan Club President Visit the Big Rude Page at "http://www.bigrudejake.com"! "I've had dinner with the devil, and I know nice from right" (BRJ) ----- [Two four point attacks that cannot be combined should be more or less the same as a single eight point attack that cannot be split. I have extended the Javascript formula calculator on my webpage to handle attacks of strength eight, so go try it out. (Anybody who asks for it to be extended to eleven should choke! ;-) -HJC] ------------------------------ From: Preston Gustine Subject: Battlesuit Minis Battlesuit in mini's, that would be good. For scaling I would leave it the same as the maps. keep an inch between each "dot" as 37.5 meters (I think that was the scale) And make Th modifiers based off of range and ECM. None of this oops sorry your bullet falls from the air after traveling 100 meters. As for which minis, mmmmm I saw no GW stuff, doesn't look or feel right for the Ogre PA troops. ------------------------------ Henry J.
