============ OGREverse list, Jan 20th (Last: Jan 16th) ============= ===== Recycle: Keep Our Battlefield Clean! From: "William Spencer" ===== OGRE in J.C. Silhouette From: Preston Gustine ------------------------------ From: "William Spencer" Subject: Recycle: Keep Our Battlefield Clean! Just how destroyed is a destroyed unit? For a "XX" result, it's obviously: VERY destroyed (smoking crater, molten puddle, etc.), but for "X"? I guess not much...a lot of the time, probably only the crew is killed and the electronics are fried, but the hardware's still good. (The other half of the time, the engine was slagged and the magazine was hit. BOOM!) This gives a VERY good reason to win in a campaign game: whoever controls the battlefield at the end of the game gets to strip the wrecks... (Maybe a random roll? 1-2, unit is relatively intact and can be repaired; 3-4, unit can't be fixed, but you can strip the parts and ammo; 5-6, unit is a burnt-out hulk, useless unless you're looking for a big planter box...) Scenario ideas: a ceasefire collapse lasting days, with each side grabbing the other side's kills for repairs; scavengers attack a convoy, hoping to leave some intact wrecks; an attack on a repair depot, where the attackers can't tell which vehicles are wrecks and which are in good repair until they're within range... ----- [They carry nukes, I think that XX covers a magazine hit very well. -HJC] ------------------------------ From: Preston Gustine Subject: OGRE in J.C. Silhouette I've gone and made my version of OGREs in Jovan Chronicles already, anyone interested in seeing them? ----- [Isn't JC from the same company that dropped the Project A-Ko Role Playing Game?
