============ OGREverse list, May 27th (Last: May 21st) ============= ===== OGRE Macrotures at DragonCon From: Servitor@aol.com ===== OGRE PC game From: "Akiva Atwood" ===== New website From: "Grogan, Paul" ===== New Superheavy From: "Paul Grogan" ------------------------------ From: Servitor@aol.com Subject: OGRE Macrotures at DragonCon Hi everyone! Yes, OGRE Macrotures WILL be at Dragoncon. The schedule looks like a 9am to 1pm slot and a 1pm to 5pm slot, both on Saturday. I will drop a note to the list here if there is a change of schedule. I hope some of you can make it to see (and play!) the original macrotures. You can also take the oportunity to needle me mercilessly about my website with the Macrotures photos (read: lackthereof). best, flunky ------------------------------ From: "Akiva Atwood" Subject: OGRE PC game HI: My OGRE floppy seems to have given up the ghost -- I guess I've played it too many times. Anyone have any suggestions on how to revive it? Replace it? TIA Akiva =========================== Akiva Atwood, POB 27515 Jerusalem, Israel 91274 ------------------------------ From: "Grogan, Paul" Subject: New website Hurrah, I've finally got my website up and running. I've got a few OGRE pictures up there at the moment, more to follow Can you put a link on your site - cheers The thing you might want to look at is the GEV boards that I've made - and yes, they did take ages The website address is www.runestonegames.freeserve.co.uk Cheers, Paul P.S: Played the Train scenario from GEV last weekend and had a query about the points. It doesn't specifically state that both sides get points for destroying units whereas the other scenarios do. However, 9.012 says "all scenarios in GEV, each player earns victory points for destroying enemy units" Cheers for the help P.P.S: I have a comment on the playtest maps sent out - who should I send them to? ----- [The best thing to do is to go to AOL or dmoz.org and submit the link in the OGRE category. It simplifies the record keeping for Mr Fudd. -HJC] ------------------------------ From: "Paul Grogan" Subject: New Superheavy So, the Superheavy now moves like an OGRE. As far as I can see, the only difference betwwen an OGRE and a Superheavy is the ability to move underwater. Does this mean Superheavy's can move underwater? Personally, I feel sorry for the infantry units riding them. Paul ----- [Ah, but Shockwave has MARINE Infantry for just this mission! Just got a copy of Shockwave and it's a bit retro. The Cruise Missile table is the old one, so the comparison goes something like: Two-to-One radius 8", GEV in Shockwave 2", OGRE in Shockwave 6", anything in OGRE Minis or light tanks in Shockwave In Shockwave OGRE secondary guns are a vital defense. In OGRE Minis they're lost in the first few turns. The SuperHeavies are D5, two (full OGRE version) APs, OGRE movement and no other special rules. (Gimmie a few Heavies with mounted militia any day.) As for the physical layout, I keep thinking One Page Bulge for some reason. -HJC] Henry J.
