============ OGREverse list, Oct 24th (Last: Sep 17th) ============= ===== Ogre blister packs? Combine set 2? From: Trey Palmer ===== Ogre at ShoreCon Results From: Pierre Adams ===== Heavy Missile Tank variant From: "Grogan, Paul" ------------------------------ From: Trey Palmer Subject: Ogre blister packs? Combine set 2? Any one out there know when blister packs of units will become available? Or what Combine set 2 consists of? ===== Bowden "Trey" Palmer Sneering at something is an admission to failure. You are claiming superior talent or insight ... but declining to use it. The best way to "sneer" at something, if you must, is to improve or out do it. E-mail: trey_palmer@yahoo.com ----- [The best source I can point you at is: http://www.sjgames.com/ogre/products/ Sorry about the delay, but I've been reviewing a book. (If my scenario does get published, I guess I'd best change my name and move farther away...) -HJC] ------------------------------ From: Pierre Adams Subject: Ogre at ShoreCon Results Well, Ogre at ShoreCon was not run very well. The Sunday scenario, Raid on Strongpoint Omega, turned out to be a playtest scenario. The GM, from PAGE (Philadelphia Area Gaming Enthusiasts) decided to create his own units, buildings and terrain without describing it in the pre-reg book as such. I would never have signed up for a Ogre scenario with unofficial units! The results were disastrous! My small raiding army was setup between a Combine army with laser towers, Ogres ect., and the invading Pan-Europeans, which had Ogres as well. My best unit was a missle tank. Well, the two large armies knocked my three missile tanks out first. The lasers knocked out three of my lgevs before I even moved them! I was combat ineffective by turn 3! The GM/scenario creator thought that the two big armies would pound on each other, and then my small army could raid supplies after significant damage was done. What a waste of time! ------------------------------ From: "Grogan, Paul" Subject: Heavy Missile Tank variant I'm considering using the Heavy Missile Tank variant (the one that replaces its normal payload with 2x6/5 missiles). I'm thinking initially that for the same points value as a normal missile tank this is a very good unit as in most of my battles, the missile tanks sometimes only to shoot once or twice before being toast. Anyway, my question is to anyone else that has used them. Do you allow them to fire both of the missiles in the same turn? Paul Grogan European Man in Black Runestone Games www.runestonegames.freeserve.co.uk ----- [How about a VERY heavy missile tank? I know that my next rant on GURPS OGRE was supposed to be about heavier than water GEVs taking a dive, but this is too good to pass up. Six OGRE missiles, with launch rails, weigh about the same as a Missile Tank's usual missile load and rails but cost much less. Two thirds of the cost of a missile tank is its missile load. Hey Steve, can I get a normal missile tank with limited ammo, so it can only fire three times for only 3VPs? (I promise to only use them against OGREs...) -HJC] Henry J.
