====== Ogre Digest, February 20th (Last: February 16th) ======== ===== Ogre Minis out of print From: Servitor@aol.com From: "Karl A Vogelheim" From: "Paul Chapman" ============================== From: Servitor@aol.com Subject: Ogre Minis out of print > With Ogre Minis now out of print... Gah! Why am I always the last one to hear about these things? (altogether now children: "'Cause you're too cheap and lazy to get a Pyramid subscription!") Alright, alright already. I will get my subscription taken care of by the end of the month, Okay? Of course, this is only temporary during the restructuring of the book for a new print, right? And thanks to David for the kind words on GEV Jockey. If it made a few people snort Jolt through their sinus ways, then I am a happy man. But if anyone has some ideas for expanding (or finishing) sections, please email me. Anything really hilarious will go into the next update. best, John Hurtt (Servitor@aol.com) ===== From: "Karl A Vogelheim" Subject: Ogre Minis out of print I was reading the Ogre mailing list and somebody said the Miniatures Rules are out of print. I was under the impression that you are printing them again. Which is reality? Karl ===== From: "Paul Chapman" Subject: Ogre Minis out of print Ogre Miniatures _is_ currently out of print. A sudden spike in sales rather surprised us, and we were caught, bluntly, with our pants down. Our current plans call for a new edition of OM, in full color and hardcover. I'm looking for a late summer release. It should be noted, of course, that while a book is out of print for the publisher, many games stores will still have copies. Paul Chapman Miniatures Division Manager Ogre Line Editor Car Wars Line Editor Steve Jackson Games paul@sjgames.com ===== [Hi Paul, just a few more annoying questions. Will there be a full playtest on the Pyramid boards or at least a comment period to send notes (to you?) about problems with the previous edition? Will there be an effort to overcome the rule differences between minis and board play? (Ogres getting shockwaved by cruise missiles outside of secondary battery range, etc.) If so will this be a combined rulebook to the point of including scenario instructions for either sandbox or hexmap setup? Will people be allowed to send in photos of their own miniatures for inclusion in the book? (Might make for too many free copies to send out for people who got their photos accepted...) Will the hardcover be followed by a B&W softcover? Does that depend on sales? Will the foreign language market be at least considered? And what does all this mean for the Killing Zone schedule? -HJC] List Moderator: Henry J.
