====== Ogre Digest, May 7th (Last: April 25th) ======== ===== Ogre mini missile launchers From: Sumnerd1234@cs.com ===== GEV-Ogre Unit Building From: eholmes ============================== From: Sumnerd1234@cs.com Subject: Ogre mini missile launchers >> Or the concept of 3/4 missile launchers with no ammo restrictions is unbalancing to the rest of the game? Can you say "Dead Infantry"? Hovers would be WAY too vulnerable. And ditto for CPs and Howitzers. Try replacing 2 secondaries with these and see how well any defender will hold up... >> OK, try this, use the 3/4, D3 LRML as replacement for the MB, and the 2/3, D2 SRML as a replacement for the secondary. Lets say the LRML is worth 8 VP and the SRML is worth 4 VP. I've also been wondering about this for a while now. Why not allow Ogre's to lay mine fields, especially the "raider" type units. Think about it, you've got a giant robotic tank running around in the enemy's rear, creating havoc, and raining nuclear death and destruction. Why not have it leave a little something extra behind for them to remember it's visit? Another quick question for the rest of you. I know the Israeli Golem is supposed to carry some type of combat drones. Why not allow other Ogres to carry some type of sentry drones to assist it in protecting itself from infantry overruns? They would be more useful in the smaller Ogres (MK I, MK II), or in situations where the enemy had huge numbers of infantry to through at an Ogre. I figure Nihon forces had to run in to situations where the Chinese basically used numbers to overwhelm Hihon troops. They have never been shy about using their huge population to beat superior technology. ===== [GURPS Ogre gives the stats for the Vulcan with drones. -HJC] ============================== From: eholmes Subject: GEV-Ogre Unit Building Henry: I'm at a loss, I can't seem to find an article on building new GEV-Ogre vehicles. Your article doesn't seem to fit the bill, since you claim that it's "cooked." Can you point me somewhere?
