This is bald theorizing, but it seems that reinforcements are not quite the windfall they are against a GEV force. They trickle in one or two at a time. The missile racks can toast up to 3 armor a turn. So its like free VP unless you handle the reinforcements /expertly/. I know, I know, you ARE an expert and would not send a lone missile tank to take on a IV. But in many Ogre scenarios you can get away with such a "doofus" approach. Notably "toast the command post". Or maybe this is why I suck at that scenario... > Another way to balance things out is to declare the > SE coastal cities > entirely destroyed already, and not available for > VPs. Sounds interesting! I think, when he was writing it, Steve wanted a scenario where the Mk IV really shined. And as printed, boy does it shine. (He's been known to do that before, e.g. Operation Newspaper) ============================== From: largecardriver5@webtv.net (e.w.markle) Subject: News of reinforcements Hi Henry, I was wondering if there was any more info on when the Ogre MkIV miniature would be released. Just picked up another MkV, as well as 3 MkIIIB's and 3 of the MkI's & MkII's. Any info, even bad news, would be great. Keep up the good work, Ed (:{> ===== [The news on the Mk IV is good. I just forgot to mention it here earlier. See the October 5th entry at http://www.sjgames.com/ill/2002/oct.html My current reaction to that Mk VI design is that if any of them start swinging that front main back and forth while shouting "Exterminate Exterminate!" they're getting a cruise missile, friendly or not. There was some slight reaction to the Mk VI on the various forums and Paul even showed up briefly on the Pyramid forums. On the Yahoo forums my suggestion that the new version of the SHVY was worth 15VPs touched off a bit of a discussion and there have been several polls about which of the OGRE items in production folks would most like to purchase. See http://www.warehouse23.com/search.cgi?keywords=Ogre&status=PROD for a partial list of those. -HJC] List Moderator: Henry J.
