====== OGRE Digest, June 14th, 2004 (Last: June 10th) ======== ===== Standing tall in the back of a GEV-PC From: Sethkimmel@aol.com ===== Nuclear missiles From: "Chris French" ============================== From: Sethkimmel@aol.com Subject: Standing tall in the back of a GEV-PC > The more serious problem with my basing technique is how do you > indicate how many squads are in a GEV-PC? I am *not*going to buy four > times as many GEV-PCs as I expect to use, with permanently affixed 0, > 1, 2, and 3 squads. I'm still working on an answer for this. I once experimented with cutting a piece of polystryrene sheet to fit the infantry compartment floor then gluing 3 infantry figures on it single file. You could remove the infantry by grabbing one and lifting the whole stand off of the GEV-PC. It worked, though the infantry figures looked awfully crowded (or they were a modern versions of Thebes sacred band...:-) ). I was planning on adding casualty caps to allow for 1 or 2 squads on the GEV-PC. I have regretfully sold those figures since then...:-( ============================== From: "Chris French" Subject: Nuclear missiles > From: AvaheilDotter@aol.com > Until the fallout from the combat gets back to the US. There is no > such thing as a clean nuclear bomb. I've been trying to tell people that for *years*.... And I wasn't suggesting the damned things be nuke-armed in the first place -- the railguns would be nice, but load 'em with steel-wrapped BPC. Who needs nukes when you have impact- produced-plasma weapons? :) > From: Andrew Walters > Subject: Ogre Army Builder? > Can anyone else think of anything it could do that would make it fun > to tinker with? [shrug] Not really. If I need a TO&E, I got to my copies of the _Army Vehicle Guide_s from _Twilight: 2000_. Everything else is just plugging in Armor Units. If _OGRE_ had a proper mass-combat system (as _Battletech_ had with _Battleforce_), an army builder might be useful. _OGRE_ never has enough units in play to make an AB viable.
