As the title suggests, Galactic Races is a collection of species for the Dragonstar setting published by Fantasy Flight Games. This d20 System setting is not so much a campaign world, but a whole galaxy that combines the science fiction and fantasy genres that answers the question, "What would happen if the standard d20 System fantasy world dropped into a universe of spaceships and lasers?" With the recent ascension of Red Dragon, Mezzenbone to the Dragon Throne, the Empire has expanded aggressively, sending legions into the outlands to bring numerous worlds into the Empire, and thus new peoples and aliens as well.

The slim volume presents 16 races, some new, others classic d20 System standbys, some from already within the borders of the Empires, some without, and others just on its borders. They come ready to play or use, either as player characters or as NPCs. Each receives an average of three pages devoted to it and is accompanied by a more than pleasing illustration. The text provides an overview of the race, their personality, physical description, relations with other races of the Dragon Empire (though only with the core races found in the Starfarer's Handbook for the Dragonstar setting -- Elves, . . .
