We've been wrestling with this in my group also. Really, I think Wrath and Envy map to Bands rather than Princes; Djinn are demons of Envy and Calabim demons of Wrath. The closest we're likely to get to a replacement is > Apathy, i.e. Ralph, and he's not necessarily canonical. Uhhhhh, no. There's an obvious choice, but you have to think about it. Haagenti ate the previous Demon Prince of Sloth (probably couldn't be bothered to take care of himself), leaving Perdition an empty wasteland. No more people lounging around doing nothing. Remember who moved into the vacated Perdition, and what he did with the people there? Nybbas took the land of the lazy damned and turned it into a land of entertainments ...for the lazy damned. In that regard, Perdition is being used for exactly the same thing it was before. >Greed -- Mammon, coming any day now. >Lust -- Andre. > >Anger and Envy appear to be vacant, or at least, I can't find any Prince >who maps to either of them with sufficient precision for my tastes. >Does anyone else have an existing Superior they'd like to volunteer as >containing either (or indeed both) of those Words (Superiors on the INC >are eligible for this)? If not, I may have to invent them... For anger/wrath, while Belial has a certain tie to that role (the destructive nature of fire also includes the destructive nature of fiery emotion), Furfur has a more direct tie to it. And if you think about it, Furfur *hates* being indirect anyway. So that works just fine. For envy? Again, kind of obvious if you think about it: whose word is based entirely on the tenet that other people have nicer stuff? Try valefor in that regard, and see how nicely he fits. - -David http://www.bluecrab.org/members/dwood/ No, not THAT David. ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 15 Oct 1997 08:22:21 -0400 (EDT) From: Emily Dresner Subject: Re: IN> Bast > I already have it some where. After all, their >enemies are not of Egypt, and are therefore not fit to stand upon their >ground. > Sounds reasonable to me.... Hey! I just got a Neat Idea(tm). What if the demons and The War were created because Cthulhoids were approaching and God wanted a fighting force that would be capable of defending the Symphony? There would be minor skirmishes with the leading edge of the Minions. A few angel or demon groups would be really confused by these new opponents who operated by different rules. Then once the battles really started the demons (who mass produce) would be the shock troups and the angels would be the defending force. Lucifer would either be in on the plan or the biggest dupe. Legion may have made a pact with them for the ability to take over so many hosts. Maybe Uriel had made a bargain with them and, as his part, he wiped out the gods that defeated the Cthulhoids the last time. Who else might be in their pocket...? Raphael. Legion. Uriel. Two dead, one gone. What happened to their servitors? Destroyed? Given to others? Still around? In the case of Uriel, we know from The Marches that the Tsayyadim are still functioning, even without Uriel. There's a Malakite of Knowledge, one of Raphael's boys, listed in the present day in Pyramid. Can we reasonably assume that there are leftover demons of Corruption about, or that that Malakite of Knowledge isn't the only one? What happens when your superior dies or disappears? steve ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 15 Oct 1997 14:57:35 -0500 From: Earl Wajenberg Subject: Re: IN> Dead Archangels and Princes. However, I suspect that a strong-willed celestial could buck the system. At least, an angel could. A demon would probably be given a direct order by Asmodeus or someone, and comply or go Renegade. An angel might just have to suffer being pulled over frequently by suspicious triads of Dominic. But all that's just my suspicions. Envy I would say has to go to Malphas as his word basically contains it. As far as anger goes I would have to argue against Furfur. Anger and Hardcore are very different. Neither is copletely (or even mostly) inclusive of the other. If any of the existing Princes were to be anger I would have to vote for Belial, though a case can be made for Baal. - - Andy ______________________________________________________ Get Your Private, Free Email at http://www.hotmail.com ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 15 Oct 1997 16:10:56 -0400 (EDT) From: Kim Foster Subject: Re: IN> Greetings... Yes, but the problem came when she desided the Egyptians where no better then theyr enemies, and Horus(?) was forced to get her drunk on blood to stop her killing of the Egyptian people.
