MARC : Do you really have to hiss like that? MICHAEL : I don't want half the Council listening in on this. I just wanted a quiet report on how the Project's going. MARC : Oh, fine, fine... [tries to wander off] MICHAEL : [dropping a firm hand on his shoulder] Details. MARC : [uncomfortably] Well, our product share is rising, the essence flow is definitely up, the audience participation is rising, the enthusiasm level is better every day... MICHAEL : What about that report about the Malakim? MARC : [looking everywhere except MICHAEL] You can't blame me on that one! MICHAEL : Did you know that Laurence is talking about personal oaths of vengeance? And David has all his servitors out looking for the authors? MARC : [desperately] Was *I* the one who suggested subcontracting to humans? Was I the one who said, "Hey, let's be cool, they can handle it, they're neat," before wandering off to have a toke? Was I the one who said it would be unnecessary to screen the writing, because it would be intervening in purely human affairs? MICHAEL : [thoughtfully] On the positive side, I understand that the Project is having some very interesting effects on Hell. Lilith's becoming positively easy to handle... MARC : Oh, that's just camouflage. MICHAEL : It is? MARC : Check the mailing list. She really has unsuspected depths of malice. MICHAEL : Damn. MARC : Look at the essence projections, though! Look at the potential for character alteration... MICHAEL : [ominously] They haven't done you yet, have they? MARC : [nervously] Nooooooo, not yet. MICHAEL : Marc, most honest and always truthful. Has quite a ring to it, doesn't it? MARC : You wouldn't. MICHAEL : Watch me. MARC : Okay. What do you want. MICHAEL : Well, access to this mailing list, for a start... - --- Happy Christmas!!! - --- Maya, Elohite of Eli in service to Blandine maya@tcp.co.uk - -- "There are those who say that wizards are subject to temptations and addictions beyond the understanding of ordinary men: the addiction to shape-changing, or to meditation under the influence of certain herbs and conditions of the stars; the obsession with knowledge, and the development of power. I mean, there are some interesting philosophical issues that IN seems to center on, and I wonder how much these are played up. What about free will? What about the nature of good and evil? Is it all relative? Is God really all good, even with Uriel and other similar questionable actions? Is Hell all evil, depsite a few demons who don't seem all that malicious? What are the answers in your campaign?
