RULES: 1. These are NOT Cannon. 2. Feel free to use them in any campaign, but if you put it on the internet, gimmie SOME credit okay? 3. Be more specific next time: Angels (AA or Just word bound) or Demons (DP or just Word Bound. 4. Please toss some feedback. Insurance (Angelic side, Word-Bound [Not AA], moderatly powerful [I.e. Not EVERY chior is represented.]) Dissonance It is dissonant for an Angel of Insurance to bind someone in an insurance contract that is filled with harmful, illegal, or immoral practices. It is also dissonant to not inform someone whom the angels DISCOVER to be in such a policy. Seraphim The Seraph's may, but reading the contract thru once (takes about 2 hours), spot any hidden clauses or twisted words that cheat/harm or otherwise hurt the policy holder. This requires no Resonance roll. The knowlage can also be instantly gained by touching the document and spending one essence. Cherubim The Guardians may only be attuned to Celestial Force # of people, but they add thier Celestial forces to thier resonance roll. Since it is the job of the Cherubim to track down those who attempt fraud thur thier policy (Thru false claims or hidden clauses... Cherubim track down either the company or the person, take yer pick), they need no resonance roll to attune themselves to the policy violators. As a side note, they gain no dissonace if A MALAKITE harms thier attunment, UNLESS that angel kills him. Ofanites The Wheels are the fastest Evaluators in heaven. They can look at any building, person, car, ect. And (with a Resonance roll) INSTANTLY tell exactly how much the person is owed. They also add thier Celestial forces to any bargaining attempts or fast-talk Skill rolls. Malakim The Virtues are usually teamed with the Cherubim of Insurance in tracking down policy violators. As long as the malakim makes a resonance roll, and does NOT kill the Cherub's attuned subject, they regain one essence for capturing him. It should be noted that the Malakim REALLY enjoy thier jobs. Mercurian The Friends of Man are charged with helping families cope after damage has been done. (House burned down, person died, Car crashed, ect). They gain a free role/4 as an Insurance Representative. Often, but not always, they are teamed with Ofanites to help asess the damage. Possible Rites: - -Gain one essence for reporting a bad insurance policy to the proper authorities. INSURANCE (Demonic side, Word-Bound, Moderatly Powerful [Not all bands]) Dissonance It is dissonant for the Demons of Insurance to Allow a human to sign a contract that is Fair and Even Handed. If given the opportunity, they must ATTEMPT to cheat a human on a policy. Balseraph The Liars are the best at hiding clauses and twisting words. With a resonance roll, they can disguise any hidden clause in a contract so well, ONLY a Seraph who uses his Resonance with a Check digit of 6 can spot it. Even 20 human lawyers couldn't find the loopholes created by the weakest of Liars. Djinn The Djinn, who couldnt care less anyway, are charged with DELAYING payment, fulfillment, or honoring of an insurance policy. For every Corporeal force days they delay the fulfillment of a policy owned by a subject they are attuned to, they gain 1 Essence. Lilim Lilim can make an honest contract... but anyone who signs it is AUTOMATICALLY Geased/2 (no roll needed) to the Lilim. If this happens, the Lilim gain No Dissonance. Impudites These disgusting demons need only roll resoance to determine how much essence they suck from a human. They need not roll to charm IF they have signed the human in a policy. This is the kind of insurance broker who visits you once a month to see how thigs are going. - ---------------------------------------------------------------------- John T Perkowski, Ofanite of Arcade Games Maker of Attunements (Go ahead, Gimme a word and some details, and in 24 hours, you'll get yerself some attunements). And, for >that matter, what did Jean do before electricity? Gabriel is in charge >of inspiration, so that doesn't leave a lot of metaphorical Lightning >left. Any ideas? Gabriel isn't doing much with that inspiration thing these days; she's much too busy punishing the cruel. (Pity too, 'cos I figure if she wants any sort of relief from Belial's interference, she should push every nook and cranny available on her Word and tighten up the frontage between them. But that's an issue I plan to explore in my campaign later on.) As for why Jean, here's one way that could have happened. I don't think I have to remind you that this is SOOOO completely out of canon... Back in prehistory, there was lightning. And there was Yves and his library full of books of knowledge -- don't ask me what they were written in then. And Yves thought, "Well gosh-darn it, in a few millenia all this stuff is going to become mighty relevant. Whoever gets the word Lightning now will have to oversee it all later. Whoever it is will have to be level-headed, perceptive to any threats to it, and capable of following and keeping track of all these rules." That meant an Elohite. So he went to a fairly average, trusted little Elohite at the time and said "Jean? I have a little job opening for you. Now it doesn't entail much now, just overseeing the movement of electrons and the like... Never mind what electrons are, you'll understand that with the word. No, put down that club, electrons are not little dinosaurs. The word you'll be applying for is 'lightning.' Yes, I know, there's an Ofanite of Gabriel who's vying for the same word. And yes, I know she has quite a temper. But the word will expand later on, and I'm afraid she'll not be up to the task. Yes, the word will expand quite a bit. And yes, there will be a promotion involved later on. So what do you say? Think you're up to it?" ...and having written that little story, I suddenly had the strange notion of wondering what happened to the Ofanite of Gabriel who was trying for that same word... one day I'll dig up the instruction manual for my brain and learn how to fine-tune it. - -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: PGP for Personal Privacy 5.5.5 iQA/AwUBNguUsjBOe25kudRSEQIiegCeLAokv3Y7hIXxTqsW8DCkUItFuS4AoJ42 PUVwc6bsxE1VmxRV+Bf+Mmbg =3aiY - -----END PGP SIGNATURE----- - --David http://home.bluecrab.org/~dwood Get my PGP keys at: http://home.bluecrab.org/~dwood/pubkey.txt ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 25 Sep 1998 09:22:35 -0500 From: Earl Wajenberg Subject: Re: IN> Why is the Archangel of Lightning an Elohite?
